  1. I can't get any of the apps on my desktop to update. This has been happening for about a week or more. I've rebooted. My internet is fine. I need some help. Thanks!
  2. We are pleased to announce an update for the Windows release of Affinity Designer 2, version 2.0.3 The changes in Affinity Designer 2 for Windows 2.0.3 (those made since the last release Affinity Designer 2 for Windows 2.0.0) are as follows: We plan to also release this build as a MSI/EXE installer. Please follow this FAQ thread for notification of it's release. Fixes & Improvements: (since the last release 2.0.0) New Document: Custom Document Preset order is not retained between app sessions Current DPI of selected layer does not show in V2 Shape Builder Tool now has an additional option to delete open curves that were inside a newly created area, plus you can now hold Alt to delete areas while still in Add mode - more to come... Warp Group editing now supports the Shift modifier to lock node edits to an 8-axis grid. Also can be used with off-curve nodes to maintain their angle while dragging them Modifying Global Colour swatch fails to update document until you click out of the Colour Selector Sliders for Warp Group are broken Using the Select object/ transparency object selects all objects Symbols - Delinked nodes get forgotten when swapping out nodes from synchronised instances Shape Builder Tool: Alt to delete on rotated shapes fails Shape Builder Tool: sometimes drags out a selection marquee Shape Builder Tool: functional improvements on some shapes Placed documents with bleed fail to render the top and left side correctly Quotes can be incorrectly put on newlines and cause text to render differently compared to V1 Straightening in the Develop Persona offsets the image from the canvas entirely, until developed or crashes Transform Panel- Differences in panel size when switching between Curve strokes and expanded objects Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z isn't working in V2 apps for adjustments Outline Layer Effect is making the anti-aliased edges transparent, rather than blending with the shapes colour Quick Access to Node Tool no longer allows you to insert node Fixed spurious "future version" error under certain circumstances Improvements with PDF Import and Layers Fixes for RTF import - font name discrepancies, fields in footnotes Update for HEIF importer DWG Import scaling improvements DWG file takes a long time to open then shows incorrectly (file specific). Colour Panel now remembers user preference for CMYK documents Export Panel UI fixes Fixed some tool drawing issues relating to selections across spreads etc Pen tool tweaks and fixes Fixed hang that could occur composing vertical centre aligned text OpenType handling does not respect lookup flags such as IgnoreMarks Hit box of scaled text could be incorrect Gradients on text strokes don't render unless the fill also has a gradient Fixes for line breaking in some odd cases with punctuation Resource Manager updates Light UI Improvements Many and various Layers Panel updates and fixes Clipboard: 32 bit DIB support added Auto Flow Place: Added an option to auto-flow place to replace the content of already populated picture frames More attributes are retained when replacing images in frames Ensure global colour edits update live Select Same Name should only select objects with user supplied names New clearer icons for stroke properties (cap, join, align) Help & localisation improvements. Licensing and Registration improvements and new help links UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Designer ). If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store — each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for Windows) can be downloaded from this link. (those installers are NOT for Windows Store purchases). If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store — Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.
  3. If a new update is available, after executing the "Check for Updates" command, a dialog will appear in which a question about performing the update is displayed. After a positive answer to this question (clicking the Install button) the update process continues, but the mentioned question, which is completely irrelevant and meaningless during the update process, is displayed further. Therefore, I think it would be appropriate and reasonable to modify the dialogue text during the update. The update process and its progress are indicated to the user both by means of a concise and much more user-friendly Progresbar, which also informs the user about how long the installation will take, but also by a silent indicator of the download process. I think it would be much more user-friendly if the entire update process was displayed with a single progressbar, with 0% position reserved for the download calculation, 1-49% position reserved for data download process, and 50-99% for the installation process. Thank you

  5. This post is designed to be an aid to knowing if you are using the latest version on your platform. The thread is now locked so if you "follow" it you will know then we release a new version on any platform. 6. We are pleased to announce version 1.10.6 updates for the Affinity Suite on all platforms. Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher (on macOS, Windows, and iOS) had all recently been affected by recent operating system releases such as the launch of macOS Ventura, iOS 16 and Windows 10 and 11 updates. We have mitigated some of these in the 1.10.6 patches of all applications on all platforms. The changes fix/avoid the problems introduced by operating system changes thus returning earlier functionality. If you are using Windows 10 or 11, macOS Ventura (13.x) or iOS 16 then we recommend installing these updates. Other supported operating systems can install the update without issue, but they have no specific advantages/fixes over 1.10.5 for your OS. 8. im using affinity designer and photo on my my macs and when i check fot update on both of them its says version 1.10.5 is the newest version available how do i get V2?? should i buy new licensees???
  9. I already owned version 1 of all three softwares. Today I bought the universal upgrade. Once I downloaded from the serif site the three dng files for the installation, they did not install in the applications folder, where I could still find only version 1. I tried to cancel the old files of version one from the folders, but still the opening of the dng files does not result in the creation of any file in the folder of the applications. When I start the dng files they open and at the end of the process open the program, but it functions only temporarily and they disappear when restarting the Mac. Can you please suggest a solution?

  12. Hi, I am working on a presentation in Affinity Publisher. I have masterpages with two text frames: one for the title of the slide and the second for the chapter of the slide. Having started with my previous presentation file, I am now wondering how I could update all chapter text from the masterpage without affecting the title text of the slide. For the chapter text, I have a bar that contains all the chapters. Within this, I want to apply a different characterstyle to the active chapter, so I can have Chapter 1 displayed in bold when I talk about Chapter 1 and have Chapter 2 in bold for Chapter 2 etc. I prefer not to have individual masterpages for each chapter, because that would multiply the amount of masterpages by 7 (leaving me with 21 masterpages to manage). How could I approach the text updating efficiently?
  13. We are pleased to announce an update for the iPad release of Affinity Designer, version 1.10.5 (note this 1.10.5 build calls itself 1.10.21 in the about box, but is nevertheless 1.10.5 for bug reporting purposes) Changes in this build The changes in Affinity Designer for iPad 1.10.5 (over the last release Affinity Designer for iPad 1.10.3) are as follows: Fixes & Improvements: Attempted to fix graphics corruption for some users of iOS. Optimisation when transforming Text Frames. Assorted other small fixes. The improvements in 1.10 since 1.9 are listed in some detail in this 1.10.0 Designer iPadOS update announcement UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the corner of preferences screen. Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad Store app and go to Updates. 14. Hello! I need some help. I own on windows all three Affinity products: Photo, Designer, and Publisher, which I bought from the Affinity Store. I own all 3 software's. I bought them separately last year; does that mean I have no access to those new updates? I looked in the help menu and couldn't find any updates! I'm confused. Please tell me I'm wrong and that Affinity just didn't throw me from the ship. Is this morally acceptable for a loyal customer who paid for all three Affinity software products? Please tell me I'm wrong and they are still working on it and it's just because of the region or something ! And, if that's the case, does that mean there will never be any updates for me or other users who already purchased all Affinity software separately? Q: 1. Why should I pay twice for the same product to the same company when they specifically stated "free updates for existing users"?Just go to the top ''menu'' press ''help'' and press ''updates''. No more no less. 2. What is V2? Does this also apply to V2 users who, like me, will experience this when V3 is released? Extra money! Those who already paid for V2 are happy and laughing at us; just stop and think for a moment what will happen if V3 comes out. I hope I'm mistaken and just hysterical, but all things considered, it appears that I'm correct. Please correct me! I agree Affinity deserves more extra cash for their hard work, but not from loyalists who have already contributed. I would like to pay extra but backstabbing isn't how you do it. Saying one thing and changing the context isn't right, right? I love you, Affinity, but please don't go to the dark side. Thank you, waiting for your response Affinity team. (This was also posted on the Affinity Facebook thread with no reaction, no hate, no help, and was probably deleted.) just edited because of the rules.

  18. Been waiting for so long. And I see no news at all. What new features will we get next?
  19. Hi, I was wondering if there were any informations the next affinity photo update. Because I reported a bug a while ago that prevents me from working on affinity photo for digital art, but the next bug fix update still doesn't seem to be coming, which means I still can't use it. In the meantime I end up using Krita, but as I already bought affinity photo and designer as well as brushes for them, it's really frustrating that a bug fix still isn't there for an issue like this
  20. Hi, after the update today I noticed that Unsplash is missing in the Stock Panels of all three apps. Is there a good reason for it or is it a bug? I'm on Windows 10.
  21. Hi guys ! :) I am a IT tech from a State compagny in Quebec city,Canada. Some of our customers recetly bought Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo and we have to check it with some approval rules that our Ministery set. One of these rules are that we have to hide any updates messages that the software pop. We dont want our custumers to update any software when they want it, because they have some restrict permissions on the computer. Is there a way to hide the pop up message that I put in attach files ? Thanks alot and sorry for my bad english ;)

  23. Hello Affinity Community, We hope you kindly accept this suggestion and request, As you know, Affinity has a lot of impact on the people in the Middle East area. Accordingly, It would be quite nice to support the RTL writing direction for languages such as Arabic, Hebrew and Persian.
