The thread is now locked so if you "follow" it you will know then we release a new version on any platform. Version numbers are displayed on the About dialog (or preferences in iPad builds) NOTE: I will update/edit this first post as new releases are added. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available. If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. 2. We are pleased to announce version 1.10.6/7/8 updates for the Affinity Suite on all platforms. Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher (on macOS, Windows, and iOS) had all recently been affected by recent operating system releases such as the launch of macOS Ventura, iOS 16 and Windows 10 and 11 updates. We have mitigated some of these in the 1.10.6 patches of all applications on all platforms. The changes fix/avoid the problems introduced by operating system changes thus returning earlier functionality. If you are using Windows 10 or 11, macOS Ventura (13.x) or iOS 16 then we recommend installing these updates. Other supported operating systems can install the update without issue, but they have no specific advantages/fixes over 1.10.5 for your OS. If you are on macOS Sonoma, the the 1.10.8 patch has a specific fix we would recommend you get 1.10.8 (on macOS only) is a single fix patch to address this Light UI issue on Sonoma UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (for existing V1 customers) Updates on macOS for Affinity Store Purchases The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, for example Affinity Photo > About...). 3. With Affinity Designer 1, there was a registry modification available that disabled the "An update is available" message box that appears EVERY time AD is started. That same modification does not work with Affinity Designer 2, and I was wondering how to disable the prompt. I'm surprised that (like most software titles) an ability to disable updates is not available in the settings. Thanks
  4. Hey, ...and sorry if my post is duplicated, but I was unable to find on the forum the list of modifications and other changes made to this new version 2.2.1. So, where can we find the list of improvements and fixes for this new version?... Thanks. 😉
  5. On the iPad version of Designer, since update version 2.2.0.2005 when I go to Save or Save as a document, Designer forgets the previous file name and changes it to "Untitled".
  6. When I select a text frame in which a table of contents is placed, could the right-click menu be expanded to include an update table of contents option? It's something I don't use frequent enough to warrant an easy memorisable hotkey, though, I don't want to move all the way over to the menus to update the TOC either.
  7. Tech specs: System: Windows 11 Pro (22H2) Memory: 32GB DDR4 Hello gamers, yesterday I got prompted about an update when opening Designer 2, so I went on the Affinity website and downloaded the 2.2 installers for Designer, Photo and Publisher. After installing all three, I went and opened Designer 2 again from my Start menu. Another pop-up, telling me 2.2 is now out and if I want to download it. "That's odd, didn't I just install that?" I check version of Designer and sure enough it's still on 2.1. Weird. So I close Designer and open the installer again: Okay. "Maybe a faulty update?" I press reinstall, it's done almost instantanously. Pressing the Launch button, I finally boot into Designer 2.2. So I went ahead and just to make used Reinstall with the other two installers too. Today I open Photo via Start menu and get greeted by the familiar update notice yet again. You can probably tell by now: Opening Affinity software over my Start menu pins opens 2.1, while opening over the installer opens 2.2. So I had a look: Installed apps: Start menu (with my pins): Start menu > All apps: I am not too sure what is going on, but I can't even inspect the location of the 2.2 installations. Got some information out of it by looking at the Designer 2.2 task: Whereas my Affinity 2 installation is under the default location: Is there some kind of conflict with new W11 features or something? That would be my first guess. Anyway, I would happy to resolve this. Having 2 installations/instances hovering around isn't very pretty. 😛
  8. I've just started AD tonight and was presented with this message but the version that downloads is 2.1.1 - is this just a WIP and I need to be patient? Also, please can the EXE version download the EXE version and not the MSIX version? If I then hit OK and run the program and select Check for Updates on the Help menu I see:
  9. the updater GUI tells me that there is an update available, but when i click update now it gives me an installation error without details. I use Windows. Does someone have an idea why? Or can someone tell me how to install the update manually?
  10. I use the MSI exe versions of the programs. I do not like apps on Windows and although I know it shouldn't make a difference it seems to run better on my system. My When it came time to update from 2.0.4 to2.1.0 the automatic update routine attempted to download & install the MSIX app version despite being called from the MSI exe version & I had you find the exe downloads again. Good job I remembered where to find them as they, IMHO, are tucked out of the way rather than easy to get to like the MSIX app versions. Would it be possible for the MSI installed version to download the exe file?

  12. A number of users have had the same problem I had with Pixel Persona when seeking to export multiple artboards at once. Each exported image was slightly out of line leaving a small gap on one or two sides of the image that had not been there previously. When zooming in within Pixel Persona, it became clear that the frame of each artboard/slice was slightly out of line with each artboard and could not be repositioned correctly since the frame jumps to the next pixel when it is moved within Pixel Persona. It's as if the artboard's frame had shifted to the nearest pixel. I came across a temporary solution: To align each artboard with one another so they are touching before converting the artboards to slices. However, this is not ideal for every project. Please ensure that the exact artboard area is converted into a slice irrespective of its position on the main document. Thanks! Asa.
  13. I have bought "Publisher 1" (and "Designer 1") from the appstore. I highly regret that decision now that I found out that APPLE claims for itself the right to cut off the customer's download access to their purchases at any time they please. Therefore, I am searching for a standalone installer that comes directly from SerifLabs. I would be willing to pay for another licence. But it must be "Publisher 1" (and "Designer 1") because Version 2 is not supported by my operating system. For half a decade, MacOS has been getting worse and worse with every update. So my question is this: Where can I buy a product key to use the installers that you have listed under the link above?
  14. I can't get any of the apps on my desktop to update. This has been happening for about a week or more. I've rebooted. My internet is fine. I need some help. Thanks!
  15. We are pleased to announce an update for the Windows release of Affinity Designer 2, version 2.0.3 The changes in Affinity Designer 2 for Windows 2.0.3 (those made since the last release Affinity Designer 2 for Windows 2.0.0) are as follows: We plan to also release this build as a MSI/EXE installer. Please follow this FAQ thread for notification of it's release. Fixes & Improvements: (since the last release 2.0.0) New Document: Custom Document Preset order is not retained between app sessions Current DPI of selected layer does not show in V2 Shape Builder Tool now has an additional option to delete open curves that were inside a newly created area, plus you can now hold Alt to delete areas while still in Add mode - more to come... Licensing and Registration improvements and new help links UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Designer ). If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store — each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for Windows) can be downloaded from this link. (those installers are NOT for Windows Store purchases). If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store — Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.
  16. If a new update is available, after executing the "Check for Updates" command, a dialog will appear in which a question about performing the update is displayed. After a positive answer to this question (clicking the Install button) the update process continues, but the mentioned question, which is completely irrelevant and meaningless during the update process, is displayed further. Therefore, I think it would be appropriate and reasonable to modify the dialogue text during the update. The update process and its progress are indicated to the user both by means of a concise and much more user-friendly Progresbar, which also informs the user about how long the installation will take, but also by a silent indicator of the download process. I think it would be much more user-friendly if the entire update process was displayed with a single progressbar, with 0% position reserved for the download calculation, 1-49% position reserved for data download process, and 50-99% for the installation process. Thank you

  19. im using affinity designer and photo on my my macs and when i check fot update on both of them its says version 1.10.5 is the newest version available how do i get V2?? should i buy new licensees???
  20. I already owned version 1 of all three softwares. Today I bought the universal upgrade. Once I downloaded from the serif site the three dng files for the installation, they did not install in the applications folder, where I could still find only version 1. I tried to cancel the old files of version one from the folders, but still the opening of the dng files does not result in the creation of any file in the folder of the applications. When I start the dng files they open and at the end of the process open the program, but it functions only temporarily and they disappear when restarting the Mac. Can you please suggest a solution?

If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available. If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update, or in the application main menu there is an option Check for Updates. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Designer for macOS) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Mac App Store purchases and needs a product key).

  23. Hi, I am working on a presentation in Affinity Publisher. I have masterpages with two text frames: one for the title of the slide and the second for the chapter of the slide. Having started with my previous presentation file, I am now wondering how I could update all chapter text from the masterpage without affecting the title text of the slide. For the chapter text, I have a bar that contains all the chapters. Within this, I want to apply a different characterstyle to the active chapter, so I can have Chapter 1 displayed in bold when I talk about Chapter 1 and have Chapter 2 in bold for Chapter 2 etc. I prefer not to have individual masterpages for each chapter, because that would multiply the amount of masterpages by 7 (leaving me with 21 masterpages to manage). How could I approach the text updating efficiently?
  24. We are pleased to announce an update for the iPad release of Affinity Designer, version 1.10.5 (note this 1.10.5 build calls itself 1.10.21 in the about box, but is nevertheless 1.10.5 for bug reporting purposes) Changes in this build The changes in Affinity Designer for iPad 1.10.5 (over the last release Affinity Designer for iPad 1.10.3) are as follows: Fixes & Improvements: Attempted to fix graphics corruption for some users of iOS. Optimisation when transforming Text Frames. Assorted other small fixes. The improvements in 1.10 since 1.9 are listed in some detail in this 1.10.0 Designer iPadOS update announcement UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (free for existing customers) The software version can be seen on the corner of preferences screen. Your Affinity iPad apps should update automatically next time you run them. However, you do need to be logged in with the same Apple ID you used to buy them. If the automatic update does not happen for you, go to the iPad Store app and go to Updates. Once you’re there, tap near the top of the screen where it states 'Updates' and then hold, pull down and then release. This should manually refresh the updates page. However, don’t panic if the updates are not available for you yet—Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world and this can take up to 24 hours.
  25. Hello! I need some help. I own on windows all three Affinity products: Photo, Designer, and Publisher, which I bought from the Affinity Store. I own all 3 software's. I bought them separately last year; does that mean I have no access to those new updates? I looked in the help menu and couldn't find any updates! I'm confused. Please tell me I'm wrong and that Affinity just didn't throw me from the ship. Is this morally acceptable for a loyal customer who paid for all three Affinity software products? Please tell me I'm wrong and they are still working on it and it's just because of the region or something ! And, if that's the case, does that mean there will never be any updates for me or other users who already purchased all Affinity software separately? Q: 1. Why should I pay twice for the same product to the same company when they specifically stated "free updates for existing users"?Just go to the top ''menu'' press ''help'' and press ''updates''. No more no less. 2. What is V2? Does this also apply to V2 users who, like me, will experience this when V3 is released? Extra money! Those who already paid for V2 are happy and laughing at us; just stop and think for a moment what will happen if V3 comes out. I hope I'm mistaken and just hysterical, but all things considered, it appears that I'm correct. Please correct me! I agree Affinity deserves more extra cash for their hard work, but not from loyalists who have already contributed. I would like to pay extra but backstabbing isn't how you do it. Saying one thing and changing the context isn't right, right? I love you, Affinity, but please don't go to the dark side. Thank you, waiting for your response Affinity team. (This was also posted on the Affinity Facebook thread with no reaction, no hate, no help, and was probably deleted.) just edited because of the rules.
