  1. I am unable to use Apple iPhone RAW DNG files (taken from iPhone 12 Pro) in either Affinity Photo (1.9) or also latest beta 1.9.4.242. The DNGs open but they are quite washed out - the same washed out look as though it were film and I were shooting in sLog. These DNG files open in a variety of other photo editing apps quite nicely, just not in Photo. The only workaround is opening in Mac OS Preview and saving as TIFF. Then it all works. But I would prefer to use RAW. Please see one of these files attached. IMG_2655.DNG
  2. So, am I doing something wrong, or is the default dpi when the CR.3 file is developed 72???
  3. When I open a RAW file in the Develop Persona, it is not automatically selecting the lens profile, even though (a) Develop lens profile is set to Auto-select in Develop Assistant (b) the camera and lens model are correctly identified in the line near the top of the screen (just to the right of the Cancel button) (c) the exact lens model can be manually located in the pull down profile listing The first screen shot Camera-Lens-01.jpg below shows the issue for a Sony .ARW raw file, and it is not just one individual image, but all I have tried from that particular camera, and is als
  5. XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) is a must for professional RAW editing in Affinity Photo! Urgent! ....Every time we need to RE-develop the same photo we need to do it all over again???! This is not professional at all! The Editing profile file should be placed in the same folder as the original RAW, every time we develop a photo. We should even have an option (like in photoshop) to only save the XMP without develop it. ...for later, without losing time. Because, by the way, Affinity photo is slow in this process compared to photoshop camera raw editor.
  6. There's countless threads in this forum where people ask for a DAM. Serif confirms that there's some plans, but so far they didn't reveal what they are working on. Reading the requests brought up by users I see that they ask for very different things: Some want a straightforward viewer app, others even request complex database driven software with nifty filtering options to handle huge asset collections. The term DAM unfortunately isn't very clearly defined. Hence my question: Do you need a DAM-program by Serif? And what should it be like? [Edit: Unfortunately I can not do anything ab
  7. How can I save the XMP file from a raw edit? or the option to automatically save xmp settings as in Camera Raw
  8. Hello all I evaluate AP 1.7 as a replacement for Lightroom but run in some very basic problems with raw file development. 1. When I develop one single raw file (DNG from Lightroom) AP writes a huge file (121MB versus 19MB original). This is no good. Is there a way to save the adjustments done in a fair way without using the alternative formats like tif, jpg etc. ? 2. I want to develop several raw files (DNG from Lightroom) at once with a batch process and saving them in jpg or tif for further processing. However, I do not manage to apply the individually made macro in Photo Per
  9. I just started shooting RAW (CR3) with a new camera (Canon 90D) and noticed some artifacts when developing from the Develop persona. The images are large (32 MP), so occasionally it takes half a second for the changes to propagate to the image. For example, I will modify the shadows/highlights and for half a second the image will scan (or pixelate) as the changes are applied. Sometimes when I do this I notice large, slightly discolored squares as if the effect wasn't completely applied. For an image of this size, the squares are probably around 500px to 1000px on each side. I can fix it by mod
  10. Here is the supported RAW camera list, as of 1.9.0 customer beta builds using SerifLabs RAW engine: Note: This list is for the native SerifLabs RAW engine only (this is the default when you open a raw file). On macOS and iOS there is an additional option to use the built in RAW image processing Apple (core image raw) engine please refer instead to these articles for their list of supported models: on macOS Big Sur and iOS 14 on macOS Catalina and iOS 13 on macOS Mojave and iOS 12 on macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 on macOS Sierra and iOS 10 on OS X El Cap
  11. hi everybody! have a serius problem with Affinity Photo. to develop raw files (cr2) I open "Sviluppo Persona", after adjusting settings (really very few adjustment), so I click Sviluppo to switch to Persona Foto to export my work in Jpg...but the transition from sviluppo persona to persona foto (for every photo) is very slow! what's the problem? Really is too slow. I can't work in this way. VERY BAD!!! Ps: Work on Mac
  12. When importing DNG RAW files from a DJI Mavic Drone, Affinity does not recognize the built- in lens profile for lens correction. The profile is there, Lightroom and other programs recognize and use it to correct distortion. The drone is the very well known Mavic 2, the profile name is DJI FC2204
  13. running AP 1.8.4, but AP still does not recognize any lens profile for LX 100 M2. I added "Leica DMC-LX100 & compatible" to my favourites in order to quickly apply a suitable profile manually. In Develop Assistent I also set Lens Profile Default to "last used". This helps some way. I'm not sure that "Leica DMC-LX100 & compatible" yields the best possible adjustment. So what is the current state with LX100M2?
  14. No matter how hard I try, I am still not able to edit NIKON Z6 II RAW files in the Affinity Photo. Exactly the same problem with NIKON Z50 RAW files. Already installed the Nikon NEF codec pack from the official website and also tried the Adobe DNG Converter. Still no luck. With the DNG plugin other software such as Zoner Photo Studio, XnView or Nikon Capture-NX can display and edit the Z50 RAW files, but the images are so hideous - under exposed, very grey and strangely coloured. Any idea how to fix this? All kinds of help heavily welcomed - thank you !!!
  15. I was following James Ritson's first tutorial Jump into Affinity . I uploaded the RAW image, and the program switched (correctly) to the Develop persona. Once developed, it was fine, and I was able to follow all the instructions. However, before it was developed, while still in Develop persona, it looked like this, with the sun part of the image blown out as can be seen. Can anyone explain why this might happen? Is it to do with my graphics card (Intel HD Graphics 620)?
  16. Hi everyone! First i’m loving Affinity Photo and am amazed at what i can do with it. One thing that bugs me though is figuring out the workflow from multiple raw files to end photo. I shoot mostly portraits so lighting circumstances are the same for multiple photos at a time. I basically have 2 things i’m wondering about depending on what is possible. Is it possible to apply the develop persona settings to multiple raw files? I believe you can do that with the desktop version by saving it as some sort of preset. I would love to know if this is at all possible on the iP
  17. Hello, My files are located on a QNAP NAS. When I chose „open from cloud“ or „import from cloud“, I get an transparent document (see attached file). Any other files, even the .CR3s form My EOS R, open or import correctly an can be edited. When I first copy the R5 files from the NAS to a folder on my iPad, they open correctly and can be edited. Best regards, BigVood
  18. Hi there Thanks for receiving me in the group, I'm new to Affinity and photography Here's my issue, if I have one... I've uploaded a couple of pictures to Affinity both jpeg and raw and when magnified they look extremely pixelated, unlike in the normal photo viewer from Windows. 4500 by 6700 pixels should be high quality photos, Please find attached the pictures to review, thanks a lot CU2A5420.CR2
  19. I had already opened this, edited it, saved it and I must have done something that means that now, when I open it, the Basic panel is missing. I can't see what to do to get it back. I've attached a snapshot of what the panels area looks like. Hope this helps. Hoping someone can advise me on what to do! Many thanks Carol
  20. In Adobe Lightroom, it has a "dehaze" slider in the area for developing raw photos. I was wondering if this could be a good addition to the develop persona. Kind regards Tom.
  21. HI there, I just got Affinity photo (free trial) and I imported a couple different RAW pictures and I was very disappointed that my pictures became oversaturated...I opened the same files in photoshop and they were normal RAW photos. Why does Affinity mess with my Raw files like this? I would love to switch from Photoshop to Affinity, but if it keeps doing this to my pictures I won't be able to. I have added examples hopefully this can be fixed. Thank you.
  22. Hi folks. I use C1 for RAW editing, however it does not offer tools for bracketing or stacking. I have a 30 exposure (in place of long exposure) set, each with 0,-1,+1ev brackets (90 images). This will be my first time bracketing + stacking a set of exposures, so advise would be appreciated. If I edit the 0 ev exposures in C1 then send to AP they will be converted to Tiff and then not editable easily in C1 again. I’m not experienced in AP raw processing so not sure if that is the most appropriate way forward. Q1: Would it be best to edit exposures in raw first, in C1 or AP, the
  23. I have just started shooting in RAW only (Sony A7iii) so obviously when I open the image in AP in will open in the develop persona, now I would normally just click the develop tab so it would open in the photo persona and I would edit my image from here. Should I be doing the editing in the Develop Persona first ? What's the difference between editing in the develop persona compared to developing in the photo persona ? How far should I edit my image in the develop persona before doing the final if any editing in the photo persona ? Thanks.
  24. Hi Team, I have recently updated my DSLR Camera to the new Canon M50, this camera uses a new RAW file, CR3 files. Please can you update me and other users as to when Affinity Photo will support this file format? No pressure, but Adobe has now updated PS to include this new files format.
  25. Hi there! I recently started using RAW rather then JPEG for my photos and I'm somewhat confused. In both, Windows and macOS, when previewing CR2 files in the preview tools that come with the OS, the images load and for a moment they look (sometimes drastically) different than when loaded in Affinity Photo. It takes maybe a second or so and the images seem to be processed, after which they look like they do in Affinity Photo. On macOS, with XnViewMP, it always displays that "unprocessed" version, it seems. Can someone explain what's happening here?
