  1. Dear Affinity Support Team, I just bought Affinity Photo and am truly impressed by its functionality and ease of use. I really love the software, however I realized there is probably one minor defect in displaying images (if it can be termed that way)... My setup (SW, HW). I'm using Affinity Photo 1.6.5.135 on Windows 10 Pro, on a Lenovo ThinkPad T560 laptop with Intel i7-6600 and 16 GB RAM. I'm using the built-in computer screen along with an external screen (Eizo FlexScan EV2335W), both color-profiled using my X-Rite i1 Display Pro. The problem. Affinity Photo seems to only display colors of my pictures correctly on my built-in screen. As soon as I move the Affinity window to my other screen, the colors become slightly shifted and inaccurate. I mostly work with 16-bit TIFF images using ProPhotoRGB (ROMM RGB); and I even set the global Affinity Photo settings accordingly (Edit --> Preferences --> Colour --> ...); however, this problem shows up even if I open sRGB images. I wasn't able to iterate to a correct color representation on my external screen no matter what color profile I assigned to the document (picture). The only thing that appeared to help was to simply move the Affinity Photo window to my built-in screen. Side notes. I many times noticed that many application and even Windows itself tends to have issues with this, each in its own way. For example, mspaint.exe is always way off on any of my screens (way too dark and muted) from the point of applying color profiles to my screens, while another application I use (XnView) displays it always correctly. Capture One, DxO PhotoLab and even Adobe Photoshop also display images correctly and consistently on both screens. Also, I wasn't able to document this using screenshots, as that happens to capture the colors consistently, as they show up on my built-in monitor; however, when I compared the same file opened by Affinity Photo and XnView, the incorrect color shift on Affinity Photo was apparent (more purple-ish colors in my case). I would appreciate your advice in case I'm doing something wrong or in case I missed some important configuration options to adjust. In the mean time it would even help if I could reconfigure Windows together with Affinity Photo to use my secondary screen's ICC profile as the default one, since that one is more suited for image editing. Thank you in advance. Best regards, mk0x55
  2. I have a X-Rite ColorMunki Display to calibrate my screens. It even has support for iPad/iPhone, so I calibrated my iPad Pro 12.9" Mk.I with it and my iPhone 7 too. I can use an app called ColorTRUE to view my photos in real color on my iPad/iPhone. X-Rite says that other apps can be made to use the ColorTRUE profiles, so they will show true colors. As a photographer on the go, I often don't bring my heavy laptop with me with the calibrated screen and I rely on my iPad Pro 12.9" Mk.1 (which by the way has a terrible calibrated screen out of the factory). I edit a photo in Affinity Photo for iPad, export it and then check the real colors in the ColorTRUE app. Then go back to Affinity Photo and adjust colors, white balance, etc. if I need to. This is very cumbersome. If Affinity Photo for iPad could use the ColorTRUE Profile of my iPad, this cumbersome work around would not exist and I could use my iPad for more color critical photo work more easily. Are there plans for Affinity Photo for iPad to use ColorTRUE profiles? If not, are you willing to think about it? This would really make Affinity Photo for iPad justify the Pro in iPad Pro IMHO!
  3. It would be very useful to have functions to select the same: Color fill stroke (color / width) Appearance To quickly select all your outlines, or background element in 1 color. Speed is everything. :)
  4. Dear everyone I recently started using Affinity products and I'm having troubles figuring out why I have incompatible color palettes in Publisher and Designer. Maybe I've messed up some settings or something, but when I copy color number from Publisher and paste it in Designer I get a different color. It looks like the same color is brighter in Designer than in Publisher. You can see it on screenshots attached. This is very annoying and I don't know how to get rid of this problem. I would appreciate your help. Thank you very much!
  5. Hi, this is an old problem still present : - image developed in Affinity Photo beta 243 and passed to Persona Photo, - Color Efex call by the filter menu, - the image appears desaturated in the Color Efex window without filter actived.
  6. Hi, In my work I use a color checker ( grey18%) and I need to set the white balance through the color picker ( by selecting the color checker in the first image of the shooting). thanks!
  7. What are color fonts? They are the next big thing in graphic designThey bring multiple colors, shades, textures and transparency to type They include vector shapes, bitmap images or even both into font filesAnything I write here, would just be copying from this website, http://www.colorfonts.wtf/ Have a read through it, then decide if you want colour fonts. I know, that I want it!
  8. I am using Affinity Photo and I have exported an image, but the colors are all f'd up on some programs. Attached are some images showing the discrepancy. I have no clue why they won't display correctly on most programs, especially since some are displaying it correctly.
  9. I am doing the graphic design of a game using SVG files I was using Adobe Illustrator CC, but exporting SVG files in AI ruins the gradient, shapes, so I switched to affinity designer The problem is that when I open any SVG file, the color of the vectors looks wrong, pale, without saturation I think it could be because the color settings, and display settings When I export the file as SVG, the colors display correctly in other software, such as inkscape/illustrator (as should be) but not in affinity designer, so yeah, the problem is about displaying the colors in the software correctly _______ These are two examples of the same file open in different softwares - (Affinity open the Affinity file.PNG - SVG screenshot) __ - (Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape or other software or browser open the SVG file.PNG - SVG screenshot)
  10. I want to edit the color of multiple objects at the same time, independently of their color, Gradients, stroke, transparency, etc Something like this: In illustrator there was two diferent ways to accomplish that, including other modifications available (As saturation and brightness for example), with its own settings panel Do Affinity Designer have a tool/feature that allow to modify the color of one or many objects to other colors?
  11. Similar to this: The idea is to add a setting panel for colors that allow to edit the color of gradients, and objects in general, simultaneously or singular Adding other options for the settings, as saturation or brightness Most important for SVG format files
  12. As it is for color, it would be useful to have a quick live preview gradient settings in the studio
  13. Is there a way to click on an object within your artwork and have the swatches palette show you which color is actively selected? I want to build out a colors list and then know which color I’m working with when I select an object I’ve added to my artwork. I use a collection of Montana spray paints and need to know which colors to buy after I’ve designed the artwork.

  18. Hi, Hope all are well. I am a new Affinity Designer, trying to get familiar with all that Affinity has to offer for design and the likes... So here is my question, I am seeking to see how I can keep the image I uploaded in its original color, everytime I import an image it changes to a greenish color, but I can't find a way to keep the original color of the picture/image. 19. Hello everyone! Right now I can't figure out how to change the background color of the Text tool in Affinity Designer. The default one seems to be white but I would want to change it. Thanks for your answer in advance!
  20. Images appear darker and with higher contrast in affinity compared to other applications (see uploaded image). The problem occurs with different file format (jpg, tiff, raw). When the file is exported with affinity and reopened in an other application the appearance is normal. Which means the high contrast and darkness is not saved in the image. The problem started with the upgrade to version 1.7.3. What I've tried so far: - Change color profile (Appearance changes but the high contrast and darkness remains) - Downgrade to 1.7.1 (-) - Reset settings (-) - Delete affinity files in appData folder (-) - Uninstall programs I've updated at the same time as affinity (Nikon NX...) (-) How can I fix this issue? I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
  21. Hi, see attached the color difference of the file in the program and exported as jpg with JPEG high quality settings. Also see the second attachement for my colors settings, they are in german but I think you find the values. Thanks for any help in advance!
  22. I really need to be able to import swatches in the iPad apps, and I can find no logical reason not to have this feature. I can import brushes, fonts, symbols, assets, but not swatches? It is essential when working with color to be able to import a palette with specific characteristics. On the desktop it is so easy to do, but on the iPad it is impossible... Also I considered creating a swatches set myself from an imported image, but this required so much back and forth, clicking and opening menus it was a nightmare and I gave up after 4 colors. Please implement importing swatches soon.
  23. In Affinity starting with an RGB value of (100,100,100) translates to a CMYK value of (60,52,52,21). -> Why so much cyan ? -> Why is it different than this ? (here or here) -> If I plug the CMYK (60,52,52,21) in reverse here I get rgb(80,95,95) with a cyan tint, but affinity says rgb (102,100,100). Why ? In the attached file the color format is set to CMYK with profile (US Web coated SWOP v2). -> Exporting the file to PNG gives me correct result (exactly as shown on screen) -> Exporting to JPEG with color profile included gives me a cyan tint. Why ? (it doesn't include the profile after all ?) ColorTest.afdesign
  24. Hello, I noticed that after installing the newest version of Affinity Photo the white balance in in the whole program was of by a significant bit. It's not my Monitor because it only happens in Affinity Photo. Its not only the picture view but also the color picker and other color related tools. When rendering it uses the correct colors so it needs to be a Preview or UI problem. Does anyone had the same problem and knows how to fix it? Thanks in Advance
  25. Hi guys, I have created a color gradient in a layer fx (see image) - now I want to copy that gradient somehow or ideally make it a swatch/global gradient. But I don't see how. Thanks in advance, Stefan.
