  1. Hello, I present my first shoes. Project AD, and finalization with AP
  2. Hello, here is a link to my website, where I show some book cover designs (Print, ebook). All are created with aPhoto and aDesigner. For me, there are no better apps for this job. http://dein-buchcover.de/portfolio.html Looking forward to any feedback, thank you ;-)
  3. Hi Together, maybe I havent used the correct search terms, but I could not find anything in regard to my problem. In AD I see my canvas, but the space around it is always black. So I lose elements that I drag out of my canvas. I am used to place all my layout elements around the canvas and even explore design outside my canvas. Is there a way to change that view so that I can see everything that is placed around the canvas as well? I hope my question is clear (not english native speaker). Feel free to ask if anything is unclear.
  4. „Lene“, one of my first vector portraits with Affinity Designer. http://b-bertuleit.de/lene/ More portrait works you can find here: http://b-bertuleit.de/tag/portrait/ I would appreciate your feedback :) - - - SORRY, the links have changed: http://b-bertuleit.de/vektorzeichnungen/
  5. Vector Illustration (AD), The movie "2046" by Wong Kar-Wai inspired me to this vector graphic. The boa and the butterfly come from me. I think that fits;-)
  6. How can I achieve this kind of effect on a drawing . Like it's sorta cleaning off
  7. This is the my first foray into using AD. I guess I would say I'm a casual user but I absolutely love it! Initially started with hand drawing but have decided to start to vectorize them.
  8. Hey Everyone, I'm back with another video on how to add an Image inside of a Text: https://youtu.be/8Ykv45jox-w Let me know what you think and feel free to use this technique into your own design work. Thanks, Mike
  9. Hey Everyone, I'm back with another video on how to add an Image inside of a Text: https://youtu.be/8Ykv45jox-w Let me know what you think and feel free to use this technique into your own design work. Thanks, Mike
  10. Something I came up with in Designer a couple of weeks ago to wear on July 1st, Canada's150th birthday. Uploaded to my Redbubble store. ;-) https://www.redbubble.com/people/kevincreative/works/26662727-red-in-my-blood-canada-150?asc=u&ref=recent-owner Happy 150 Canada!
  11. Hi Maybe it is usefull to let open an affinity designer file in affinity photo for IPAD, only a bitmap version af the affinity designer file Best regards
  12. Hello everyone, Because here in a time of leisure trying new cracteristicas and using texts with textures and brushes, this was what came out have a nice day
  13. Hi, It would be nice that if you open a document that has a document palette this palette would be selected by default. I know it is trivial but it is an extra step that feels really unnecessary.
  14. Hi Everyone, I'm back with another YouTube video tutorial on how to add an image inside a shape: https://youtu.be/s4dGgAMqDp0 Thanks for watching and let me know what you guys think :). Have a good week! -Mike
  15. I can add corners to a rectangle but what if I want to only add it to some corners of the rectangle and not all corners? How may I go about this? Also, if I have an image which I'd like to take the shape of some shape I've created. Maybe for a rounded image inside a circle or whatever other shaped I'd drawn, how can this be done? Using AD to prototype a web app and I find myself needing these things
  16. Another illustration trying the latest beta. More details and thoughts on it in my Behance portfolio. https://www.behance.net/gallery/31578563/1957-Chevy-Corvette-Roadster-Affinity-D-Vectors
  17. With this Affinity Designer template you are able to easily create seamless repeating pattern with a nice preview inside the document. You can watch an introduction into the template on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/dj2t50BLyPg and here you can download the Affinity Designer Pattern Template. These are some samples which I have already created with the Template: Hopefully, Affinity Designer also supports real vector patterns one day. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  18. I opened AD today and everything was where it always is. I switched over to Pixel Persona to work on some art and my Persona Toolbar vanished. I have to go into the AD dropdown menu to switch back to Draw Persona but the toolbar still does not appear. It's just a grey or black blank bar. I have restarted the program, updated it and even uninstalled it to reinstall it and the same thing keeps happening. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I love the vector style :) Here are some vector portraits that I have created with Affinity Designer. Below the picture there is a link to my website, where you can view the works in a larger format. http://b-bertuleit.de/vektorzeichnungen/
  20. If I had like a face and wanted to place something like this pattern here on it and blend it in. How can I achieve that with AD or AP?
  21. Hi guys, first of all a big Thank you - I am a huge fan of Affinity Design and use it for all my projects. In general the usability is great and it is a pleasure to work with. But there is this tiny detail that has bitten me so many times that I at least wanted you to know :) The thing is: AD obviously remembers the last directory that I have saved or exported to. In general this is very helpful because when saving or exporting repeatedly from the same file, it is very likely that I intend to do that into the same directory. BUT... I often start my work by opening a recent file and saving this under a new name (e.g. "mydesign_02"...). And when I do, I usually want this copy to go into the same directory as the original file, not some other projects export folder from yesterday. I cannot count how many times I have done "Save as", then worked in the copy, then closed AD, only to notice that the file is not, in fact, in the same folder as the original. So I have to start AD again, open some file, select "Save as" and check which folder it is saving to, then find my copy and move it to its intended location. Pretty annoying :) I assume that this is not very easily fixed, but I still wanted to let you know :) I have a feeling that these kinds of usability details are exactly what you're trying to get right, so maybe you will come up with something smart ;) Thanks again, best, Ole.
  22. No, I didn't do a Designer rainy Saturday design. This is the Designer design I did on a rainy Saturday. The goal was to experiment with resources including Enrique's Frankentoon fab Pattern Painter Brushes (USD$6 same as free in my book) and the Awesome Gradient Set provided by cjclip (USD$0 absolute free), @ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/23960-awesome-gradient-palette-for-affinity-designer/ Hey, one of the many things I learned in this experiment: The incredible tip to CTL-C one vector and CTL-SHIFT-V it to another to pass along the properties... WORKS ON TEXT TOO! Cool! (I'll let you Apple people decipher the COMMAND key codes :P ). @Alfred 'cause you can't resist asking: I didn't add the iso automobiles because I didn't get the STOP/ALTO signs vectored yet and did't want to cause a crash! :P
  23. A vector cartoon drawing using affinity designer
  24. This might be a silly question but, I noticed there's no such thing as 'Pattern Swatch' in Affinity Designer. I see that you can only save 'color' or 'gradient' swatches. Or am I wrong? I know that you can use bitmap as fill, but when I try to use a (halftone) pattern that I created, the filled image is blurry, not razor sharp. I'm still learning to use 'Affinity Designer' and so far I love it. I hope there's a way to go about creating a pattern swatch. Thanks! - Maya
