Hi my friends
This is my first project in Affinity Photo. This picture is so old that even hard to say how. The people in the picture are my ancestors. One of women keep some newspaper and I know it is "GAZETA ŚWIĄTECZNA" which was released from 1891 to 1944 so this photo has over 74 years old. I am doing it for my 87 years grandmother. I hope she will be happy. It is not finished yet but I would like to share now.

My first test on focus stack. The speed of processing was impressive since the working space was set to prophoto-16 bit. It took only a few minutes to complete
25 images alignment and stacking. To compare, one single frame and the final stacked image are enclosed. Only minimal editing (curves and USM) is done on the stack. The output
is very good. Soon I will be testing with 70 to 160 images taken with microscope objectives.
Camera- Nikon D3100, Lens Tamron 90mm Macro, f18, 1/3 sec, ISO 200.
This is the final stack.
The image below is one of the 25 frames.

I decided to make it in polish, because there is a lot of english content already, however if someone non-polish-speaking would like to check it, there are english subtitles.
I believe there are some polish people on this forum, so I hope to get some feedback. I'm going to publish here updates, especially for episodes connected with Affinity sofware.

I think that nothing gives more satisfaction than working at an original piece not for commercial purposes but for someone dear; the photo already looks great, nice work

Hoi Enc3ladus,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
You must have a pixel or image layer type (look at the label between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers Panel) selected in the Layers panel. If the layer you have selected is an adjustment, mask or filter, the Adjustments tab doesn't have pixel data to generate a preview and all thumbnails will appear empty.

Do you actually have an image open to adjust? It seems very black.
If so, clicking on Adjustments will open this
Clicking on Levels will open this.
