  1. Thank you for remaining subscription-free — seeing that you folks sold several times better than expected is awesome news. I hope many people are already leaving the dark side to join Affinity, with many more to join us still. All of us will not hesitate to purchase again to keep this beautiful software alive and independent. You’re the best!
  2. Edit — post modified; please ignore, it’s not a “downgrade” but a bug which devs are aware of. I didn’t know so I apologise for this. If I move a file on the top of a layer — what indicates if the file stays out or goes inside? Seems that the blue line thickness which appears when a file is being moved should indicate such thing, but it absolutely does not. It’s hit or miss. In v1 a blue line would cross the layer, clearly indicating that the file is being moved inside the layer. In v2 there are no such indicators. The thumbnail clipping animation is missing as well. Comparison between v1 and v2 below
  3. @MEB Thank you for all your dedication on these forums, and all the work you do to make devs aware of real users issues — but swipe up to delete…? With a couple of shapes a swipe gesture for delete might be working like a dream, but with a complex project with hundreds of shapes and curves…, I strongly don’t believe so.
  4. I have a lot of crashes on the iPad, across the suite, most them in Designer (using Studiolink) for simply drawing vector curves or selecting layers. It seems to me that the more I’m working my way through a more complex project, the more crashes and issues I encounte . Hard-rebooting the iPad changes nothing. I keep my fingers crossed for a quick update that will address the most pressing issues, hopefully by the end of this week.
  5. Same with Procreate — I can easily copy elements from Procreate to any of the Affinity apps, but nothing between Affinity apps themselves. Seems like a bug to me as well.
  6. Happened to me a few times on the iPad as well. Restarting the app fixes the issue, and no work is being lost (as far as I can tell).
  7. True, but personally I’d like to see Warp having its own icon and category, so the group function to be activated as it was in v1, and as it should be in any vector software — readily available, not hidden in a submenu. Grouping objects and staying organised when working with big projects is a must, and having to tap twice every single time for such a fundamental function gets very tiresome as time goes by.
  8. That’s great news, have a nice day!
  9. Hi @Hanzz360 and welcome to the forums This posts seems to provide a fix worthy of trying: I hope it works for you too, all the best.
  10. Personally I can live with all the bugs, crashes and all the shortcomings of v2, and I think that StudioLink alone it makes a huge difference on the iPad. Makes every other software I know of kids’ toys. But some of the changes (on the iPad) are questionable. The replacing of ckeckboxes with dots that are sometimes hit or miss, especially combined with More Space, makes little sense to me, as do the lack of the trash icon, the extra-step required to group items, the vector-only functionality of the warp tool, the missing group thumbnails in Compact Mode etc. Although most of the issues are already being acknowledged by the devs as being looked at, how long will the fixes going to take is anyone’s guess, I think. Some issues took years to be fixed in v1, others were ported to v2. But then again, v2 is a huge improvement over the first. I can live with all the issues, there’s no turning back from studiolink for me.
  11. This is essential for creating styles, but I found out that it works by accident, after for days I thought it doesn’t — it only works if we touch the arrow until we reach the Bitmap section, but not if we touch to add Bitmap from the dropdown menu.
  12. Hi @Shiogumo and welcome to the forums I think the easiest way to migrate your files to v2 is to put all your v1 stuff in a folder (everything has to be ready to be installed, out of their containers), then open AD, press the AD logo, press Import Content and navigate to the folder where you placed all the stuff you want installed. It would take a bit depending of how large your assets/brushes etc are. I hope that makes any sense. All the best.
  13. Hi, I’d like to reassign keyboard shortcuts according to my needs for my k380. After clearing a shortcut, [unassigned] appears instead without the option to assign another key. Is it possible to reassign shortcuts? Edit, from Help: Most of the keyboard shortcuts listed here can be customised in Affinity Designer's preferences. But how…?
  14. I don’t know how difficult is to implement, but the vector warp tool is behaving more fluid and more precise than everything else I’ve been working with so far. Same for the knife tool or the shape builder, I think they’re at the higher standards possible. However, a vector eraser or real artistic vector brushes are still missing, and being missed, especially the later, but I imagine that none of them are easy to implement. For a vector software they’re strange omissions though, I think.
  15. @walt.farrell, by checkboxes I meant the new dots thing which replaces them. Sorry for any confusion — it’s still weird to me to call them anything else. Edit — you are right, I should’ve posted to Apub instead. All Studiolink bugs belong there. @DM1 Thank you for taking the time to explain but I know how to hide and show layers. I was merely pointing out a bug. The “checkboxes’’ are sometimes disappearing, they were not hidden. See difference below:
  16. Many of my Affinity assets are vector and raster elements combined (after all Designer has a pixel persona), but the warp tool in AD seems to work with “pure” vector elements only. Is this by design? Is there a workaround to make both raster and vector elements work with the warp tool? Edit — it’s clearly by design so my only question is — if there’s any workaround to use the warp tool on assets which combine pixel and vector elements.
  17. Happens to both iPad Pro 2021 and M1 iPad Pro as well. I think it’s more noticeable on large documents.
  18. Sometimes when moving the handles in an applied Style the magnifying glass pops-up and freezes the document. It happens both in StudioLink and in every individual app. Proof below:
  19. As an iPad user 1. StudioLink 2. the ability to apply Palettes in Color Overlay 3. the ability to apply transparency over Styles (this didn’t work with the halftone styles I work with) 2 and 3 are very specific improvements but they make a huge difference to my workflow now.
  20. +1 for checkmark boxes back to iPad as well. Either that or please make them bigger.
  21. I would not call myself a fancy hipster, but I can confirm that I do heavy all day work on my iPad all the time. I now have StudioLink too. After 2.0 there’s little difference between iPad and Mac for many professionals, I think.
  22. I’m new to StudioLink but I’m already addicted to it. There’s no way back now. I can switch between Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo and have access to every single Affinity feature seamlessly. It’s awesome. As far as my understanding goes a project needs to be dragged to Publisher to use it within Studiolink, but that’s a matter of a few extra seconds for each project. I know that for the desktop users this is old news, but for us iPad users?, it’s like jumping from he back of a mule into a Ferrari. Because what’s shocking, at least on a m1 iPads, is the speed. There no transition at all, and after a while you forget you jump from an app to another altogether. There’s no 3 distinct apps anymore, but one — Affinity.
