It would be very nice to be able to assign keyboard shortcuts to macros!

Another two years down the line - I bought Photo v2 and still there's no picker to set white and black. Affinity's ethos (with Photo Publisher and Designer) is clearly to de-monopolise Adobe and take a market share from Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign but when professionals have to Google just about every single new task, it's very frustrating. I get the impression Affinity designers have spent too much time in the world of Linux where manipulating software is the challenge and bending it to your will is the achievement. We ex-Photoshop users want developers who help us to create images and documents. The endless puzzle of how to do things with Affinity Photo doesn't interest us.
There are still so many bugs in the UI - annoying little things like having to click twice to activate a dialog, or typing in a value only to have the first digit ignored. Most of the tool icons are meaningless, jpg compression is so poor, native file sizes are so big, why can't I simply open a jpg edit it and close with a save? Why can't I batch save images as WEBP? I cannot move from the Develop Persona to Edit without committing the changes - and yet I can hit Undo when back to Edit - it's just clunky geeky sloppy stuff that smells of Linux.
We all hate Adobe and their monopolistic dictatorial empire, I think we all want to love Affinity but jeez it's really not working out for me. I could never recommend this to any of my clients.

+1, I would like to be able to export the different layers of Affinity Photo as an animated gif!

This is in the Questions part of the forum, Sven, so a +1 is not meaningful in this topic.
You would need to post or +1 to a topic in the Feature Requests part of the forum

Oh there's a second topic for this..
here's another one. It's 12 pages long.. so combined with this we now have 19 pages full of complaining about this missing feature.

    and 0 response from Serif.
Honestly, I love the Affinity software but the way they handle this is really sad.. Not a single word. nothing.

I miss that too. It would be nice to know if they are already working on something or plan to do it, even if they don't know when it will be ready. I also get that things often don't go as planned (especially with technology) and there can be delays. Not knowing is just frustrating. And no communication says they don't care about what people need even if that's not what they mean. I really enjoy Gumroad's approach, they keep people excited about their development. 😁

How does anyone know, because nobody from Affinity ever comments or lets us know what's going on and if/when it will happen ... Even Adobe are less secretive and better at communication than this ...

I couldn't agreee more, all three (white/black/midgrey dropper)   are essential tools that I would expect AP to have, I use them all the time in PS, both for photographic images and for scanned illustrations, like line sketches. They are invaluable and it's missing features like this that stops me from abandoning Adobe and PS.

Free transform tool/perspective distort is the most important missing part of Affinity Designer. I have just bought the iPad app and it is a great piece of software, but i sooooo miss perspective distort!

Where is the Set White Point in Affinity Photo (AP)?

Please note that I've been using the AP beta and recently I purchased the app via MAS.  I am trying to transition from Photoshop but I am faced with a learning curve.

In Photoshop, I hit CMD-M to bring up the Curves dialog and then click the rightmost dropper icon ("Sample in image to set white point") and click on the light parts of my image.  That adjusts the white balance and the white point beautifully.  I use this all the time on the white parts of scanned images to make sure white is 100% white.

I want to do the same thing in AP, but no such feature exists in the AP Curves dialog that I can see.  And when I type "Set White Point" or even "white point" in the Help menu Search field, nothing relevant appears.

How do I accomplish this in AP?  Again, I want a drop tool (or similar) that allows me to click on light areas of the image and set those parts to pure white.

If there is such a feature in AP, please note that Photoshop allows me to press the Option key after I click the White Point dropper to see areas that are still dark.  That is very convenient to allow me to see where else I should click the dropper to make sure all the white areas are pure white, not leaving any light gray patches anywhere.  Does AP have this?

    Thanks.

Another user moving from PS after a number of years restoring water damaged and color shifted images.
Being able to find the location and set accurate white, black and midtone points was an essential part of the process, made even more useful by being able to set the white picker to less than 255 and the black above 0. This gave a safety margin should it be necessary during the rest of the restore, reducing the risk of accidental clipping.
Another vote for it or a simple equivalent addition to AP

    Hi SvenH,
You can copy the Adjustment layers from one project to another  To do this select all of your adjustment layers then use Edit > Copy then in your new document go to Edit > Paste.
    Thanks
    Callum
