Text Autoflow issues
walt.farrell replied to Doozybird's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
That's a mistake, I think, if I've understood you correctly. When you're using Facing Pages you need to create the Text Frames on the Left-hand and Right-hand Master Pages, and link them. Then Place the source document, and then Shift+Click on the linking triangle on the first document page to auto-flow onto additional pages. -
Do yall accept paysafecard's?
walt.farrell replied to ToniGenZ's topic in Customer Service, Accounts and Purchasing
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. You can see the purchase options in the Affinity Store: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/affinity-pricing/ The accepted payment methods are shown toward the bottom of the page. -
Document keeps getting corrupted Affinity Photo V2
walt.farrell replied to SandraS's topic in V2 Bugs found on Windows
The on-disk size is important, but for figuring out what's going on it's more important to look at the pixel dimensions and color format & bit depth of the original and current files, I think.- 23 replies

I say it because that's what you're trying to do. If you want another ellipse that looks like B, then duplicate B (Cmd+J). It is you don't want it identical, but similar, use the Style Picker to copy B's appearance and paste onto your other ellipse. In other words, pick the right tool for what you're trying to do. As far as I know, the Line Width Tool is the wrong one for your purpose.
-
Again, duplicating an existing stroke pressure profile is not a function provided with the Line Width Tool. There's no "copy" function. If you have an existing object with a pressure profile you're better off saving that profile, or possibly using the Style Picker. I've no idea. But thanks for the new file.

Opening it in Publisher, and switching to the Text Frame panel, I can see that there's a Black background color set. How it got there will probably remain a mystery, unless you have a file where it worked and then started happening, and you can check the History to see what happened. And if you have a sample like that, Saving with History might be useful. You can resolve for future uses of Artistic or Frame Text by selecting one of those tools, and then using Edit > Defaults > Revert, possibly followed by Edit > Defaults > Save.

You do have the option, on a Mac, of using the Apple Raw Engine instead of the Serif Engine. You can change that in the Assistant Settings, by clicking the button to set the Develop Assistant Settings. You might see if that helps. -
The Margins are just visual guides for you to use. They have no direct effect on the document content or its positioning. Assuming that you created your content using Master Pages, and have your Text Frames defined on the Master Pages, then just edit the Master Page and adjust the size of the Text Frames there to match your new Margins.

Failed to import LUT (.cube) - file greyed out
walt.farrell replied to Christian L.'s topic in V2 Bugs found on iPad
This is it, and you've done it. At some point, the ticket for your post will reach the head of the queue, and one of the Serif staff will handle it. As they are very busy, that could take a few days, or even a week or so in some cases. -

V2 is a separate program, requiring a new purchase. V1 has been stabilized, and is not being updated except for major issues caused by changes to the OS. -

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. The Canon EOS R6 is supported by Affinity Photo V1, but the Canon EOS R6 Mk II is not supported. That probably explains your problem. If you were to upgrade to V2, that camera would be supported, but it will probably never be supported in V1. -
Hide v1 help from search engines?
walt.farrell replied to MikeTO's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
Of course, that would mean that V1 users wouldn't be able to use a web search to answer their Help questions. Perhaps, instead, each of the Help pages could have a clear indicator of what it's for, perhaps a colored bar with some text saying "V1 Help" or "V2 Help", and a different color for the two versions. -
I probably would not use the Line Width Tool for that, as duplicating another object's stroke doesn't seem to be one of its advertised purposes/capabilities. B already has a pressure profile. So, with B selected, in the Stroke panel you can click on the profile, then Save Profile. Then select A, and in the Stroke panel click on the pressure profile, and double-click on the saved profile to set A's pressure profile to exactly match the saved one from B.

That is a Variable font, and that kind of font is not supported in the Affinity applications yet. The initial support will come in the 2.5.0 Beta, but is not yet present in the current beta build: You can help test it, if you want, by joining the beta program if you're not already a member. More details att:

Much as Serif did with Affinity 1.9, then 1.10. They never got to 1.11, but they could have if they hadn't decided to switch to version 2.0 instead.

Tilt correction is not displayed
walt.farrell replied to sawaani's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
If you're working with a pixel layer, you can make a pixel selection of the image you want, and Ctrl+J or Cmd+J to put it on its own individual layer. Or you can use Ctrl/Cmd+X and Ctrl/Cmd+V to cut it and make it its own layer. But you can't use the Crop Tool in Photo for this. -
The beta still says that file was saved with the Release version of Designer 2.

Failed to import LUT (.cube) - file greyed out
walt.farrell replied to Christian L.'s topic in V2 Bugs found on iPad
You could try one other workaround, that works in some circumstances: long-press on the greyed-out .cube file, so you get the detailed file information. You may find Open available there. I have no idea how to debug this, nor why .cube files are usable on my iPad and not on yours. What iPad model and iPadOS release are you using? -
Then what did you mean by "except the one I have selected"? Perhaps a screenshot would help?

If you only have one item selected that's the only one that would be affected.
