  1. I should have added that I am on Windows 11. Update - this is not a hardware issue, as I have been checking out other software (Krita, Clip-Studio, Sketchbook etc) and rotation using the screen works just fine in all of these - it is a problem specific to Affinity products (which is a super annoying, as I bought the laptop specifically to use with them).
  2. I hope someone can help with this. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy 360. The first thing I did was install Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher. I am having problems rotating the canvas. First of all, the rotation slider is missing from the navigator panel (this may be a clue!). Second, I cannot rotate the canvas using my fingers on the touch screen of the laptop. Third (this one is esoteric) - I normally use a '8Bitdo Zero 2 Bluetooth gamepad' combined with a program called 'JoytoKey' (to map specific key combinations to the buttons on the pad and use this to zoom in an out, rotate the canvas and etc. (if you have not tried this and want more information, let me know - it is simply the most intuitive way of working). This method works great everywhere else, but not on the new laptop. The issue is specifically with the rotation of the canvas - I can zoom the canvas using all three methods. Note, in the options: I have tried turning hardware acceleration on and off. I have turned pointer support on and off. I have turned on and off 'use mouse wheel to zoom'. I have turned on and off 'touch for gestures only' I have turned on and off 'enable canvas rotation with Alt+scrollwheel' I have allocated shortcuts to rotate left, and rotate right. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
  3. Sorry for the late reply - Covid struck! Just a quick note to say thank you for all the advice - I managed to get it fixed.
  4. This has been discussed before, as it seems to be a known bug. The solutions given do not work on V2 of Designer, or V2 Photo. The Problem: When I create a text frame, or enter text from the Artistic Text tool, the text frame background is solid white, and I just cannot seem to get rid of it. I think this may have happened when I opened a photo document in Publisher, to flow the text around a shape - then reopened it in photo. I simply cannot turn the text frame background back to transparent. The closest I have come is to follow the advice in the link = go to designer, make a path, put text on the path and look for the text frame icon on the context toolbar. However, clicking on this does nothing (as far as I can tell). Can anyone help? As all text I now enter, on Designer and Photo comes with a white text frame background - even on new documents - and it is driving me nuts! Here is a like to the previous discussion on this forum.
  5. Let me try to describe a problem that is driving me mad. 1. I draw a line with the pencil tool. 2. I set the line up - colour/fill/line weight/cap/brush etc. 3. Draw the next line and it resets (non of the settings are applied to the new line). So with each and every line, I have to adjust all of these settings all over again. The only solution I have found is to copy the original line and paste the style onto the new line - either is incredibly time consuming. It must be possible to draw a line and then have all subsequent lines repeat the settings - as having to readjust every single line in a large document makes for an almost impossible workflow. So - how do I do this? (Sorry if the answer is painfully obvious - but I have tried everything.)
