Hello all, we're proud to announce that alongside the V2 launch of the Affinity apps, we've produced a completely new set of video tutorials to compliment the apps. These tutorials are all produced in-house by our Product Experts team.
We've worked incredibly hard on these videos, and feel they represent a huge jump in both technical and presentational quality. Hopefully you all agree! The old V1 videos—now considered legacy—are still available on YouTube, consolidated into one playlist. The link for this playlist is available at the bottom of this post.

For me is the same> Affinity suit is 150% super fantastic, I'll buy the new version when available without any doubt
 

I think a lot of the negative comments comes from people thinking that the Affinity suite is supposed to match the Adobe suite 1:1, and if that is your point of view then you're bound for disappointment, since it's easy to find areas where the Adobe applications still are better, given decades of development. 
But if you just look at the Affinity applications for what they already are, not comparing them with others, it's quite easy to see that they are a tremendous value for the money. Even if you would have to buy them all over again for version 2. 
(Also: the Affinity suite already have some advantages over Adobe, the unified file format is genius and deserves all praise!)

Ok, it was by the help of affinity guys. Uninstall and reinstall the apps via the app store, then uninstall and reinstall the beta apps, and that's it! All my apps are working fine right now

When try to make a group with an image and a text box or 2 different text boxes, the text in the boxes loses all the format, such as size, leading, etc. The only solution I found is to convert a copy of the text into curves in order to make the group. Is annoying

Hi there, every time I tried to open a 1.7 publisher document with publisher 1.8, the program crash. Then can't work with my documents

The last beta of publisher exports a pdf doesn't respect the option of black overprint, when edit in acrobat with print production option to inspect colors, black is not overprint.

Thought I'd give you a glimpse of some of the features that will be coming in 1.7.

We have spent considerable time overhauling the internals of some of our main tools.  It's been a labour of love, but it's going to open up greater possibilities for our core tool set.
 
The core tools are:
- Move tool
- Pen tool
- Node tool
- Shape creation tools
- Text tools
- Fill and Transparency tools
- Place Image tool
- Vector Crop tool
 
So, what improvements can be expected?
 
- Advanced grid editing on spread (move the grid origin and edit it's axis with a handy new widget, with full snapping of course)
- Guides can be created and moved in all the core tools, plus a toggle to turn guide editing off
- Move the artboard ruler origin (with editing toggle)
- Create objects and shapes into an arbitrary grid
- Rotate and flip objects in grid planes (great for people working in isometric), plus an option to rotate shapes in plane using the Move tool
- The Move tool will now allow you to cycle though selection boxes, including regular boxes and grid plane aligned boxes
- Snapping performance improvements
