stefano.cecere got a reaction from myclay in Affinity products for Linux
i'm a pro mac user since 1990. but after the $999 monitor stand and the overpriced macbook pros, i feel i'm going Linux soon.
especially now that Unity (the popular game dev engine) has now a Linux version
Serif if you are about to be a Linux player... i'd be happy to re-buy all the Affinity apps!

    Hi,
I hope webp is finally implemented soon in Affinity. We use is for every website and need other applications now to work with webp.
Besides the fact that the most popular browser in the world is using webp (Chrome) more browsers are coming along with the implementation, so it's about time (I hope!).
    https://www.zdnet.com/article/firefox-and-edge-add-support-for-googles-webp-image-format/
The webp code is here to use for developing in Afinity:
    API for the WebP Codec
The WebP team has provided an extensive API to allow developers to add support to their applications, including browsers, image editing tools as well as native applications.
Consult the API documentation for a description of libwebp application programming interface.
    Regards & Thanks,
    David

My next two projects are a graphic novel and a heavily illustrated book. I'd like to use Affinity Publisher for both of them, but that hinges on getting anchored graphics.
I used FrameMaker to write technical documentation, and other things, for several years. With FM, you could produce a document from start to finish with a single tool. What I am hoping for, is to be able to do the same thing in Affinity Publisher. Either that, or seamless integration with a tool like Scrivener.
I understand the first release cannot have everything, but anchored frames, that can hold any other object, pictures, tables, or text, should, I believe, be part of the first release.

I'm confident that after the first Official Release, they will make a Topic about coming features, the same way Designer and Photo have. And still people might miss those and make repeated threads...
    Best regards!

I guess that the roadmap is not yet decided.
Instead I propose a mandatory course entitled "An introduction to using the forum search"

stefano.cecere reacted to dizeyner in Affinity Designer: Pages feature in 1.7?
I Just purchased Sketch a few months ago myself. Pages are too essential to the way I work. That it can also do artboards and layers is AMAZING.

I have not mastered it yet so it seems to me it does not have all the glossy stuff I love in affinity photo and designer but the race is on! Its anyones game.

    hi.
it's 2 years that i'm waiting for the "pages" feature in Affinity Designer (it's in the roadmap!)
since i have to renew my Sketch license.. but I'd like to start my next project with AD if it had pages, any new hints if it is being developed and maybe introduced in 1.7?
NOTE: i think that with the Pages feature, AD could be really used for advanced apps/games UI and prototypes
    thanks!

Please find below the current feature roadmap for Affinity Designer. The list is a selection of features from our own internal roadmap we would like to share with our users. If a feature you would like isn't on the list then feel free to create a new post so everyone can discuss it. We read all the feature suggestions and consider each one very carefully.

The idea is the list will never get longer. As we complete and release features then we will replace those features with new ones.

stefano.cecere got a reaction from JamesJenia in UI: automatic 100% zoom when opening a doc
    (AP 1.5.2)

i could not find an option to tell AP to open new docs at 100% of zoom
i think (if the screen size allows) 100% should be the default view, but at least we should have an option for that (i manage mostly UI/sprites, not photos, so pixel perfect is a need)
