Opera got a reaction from Bwood in Very very disappointed with Publisher 2
Agreed. There's no point in buying version 2 if you have version 1. And if you're a professional, the question is really whether it makes sense to switch to InDesign right away and save yourself all those workarounds.

Opera got a reaction from GDCo in Publisher 2 - finally Global Layers!
Oh sorry, I'm only joking. Unfortunately, this essential feature does not exist in Publisher 2. I think that Publisher 2 is especially neglected. Honestly, I find the new features very modest and unimpressive - I am more than disappointed as an Affinity friend of the first hour.
What I have read so far, even functions are no longer implemented in Publisher 2 that are available in version 1. And all that at twice the price. I think this will no longer be a success story.
Damn, I really thought for years this could be the InDesign alternative and struggled all this time with various workarounds for missing features. So the other thread asking for an export function from Publisher to InDesing is more than justified. I think sooner or later I'll have to look into how to import Publisher files back into Indesign.
But I won't buy the new version because of that either. Very sad.

Opera got a reaction from Krustysimplex in Global layers
There's no question about it: Global Layers are essential for any professional or even semi-professional workflow. If some guys here want to sell us Master Pages as a replacement for Global Layers, the only reason is that there are no Global Layers in Publisher.

Yes that's it. Thank you very much!

Opera got a reaction from jmwellborn in Resizing Images
The easiest solution is to use other freeware. Resizing with Photo is unfortunately a mess.

Opera got a reaction from Petar Petrenko in Resizing document
a standard Resizing Dialog -> The oldest request ever... but always ignored by the developers....

Opera reacted to Petar Petrenko in Resizing document
It is a shame to use PS just for resizing pictures.
It would be nice if they just copy that PS's panel and it will not be a PS clone, either.

Hi A-team,
any info about this? I must keep Photoshop just for this and for nothing else.

Opera reacted to IvanDoganov in When will language versions be available?
It is very important to have a nice multi language support. If not for the interface, the dictionary support for as many languages as possible is critical. As I live in Bulgaria, we use Cyrillic, and the support for the Opentype subsets and other options is really important, if you want to produce a high quality documents. For me, the language support in Designer and Photo is a bit limited for non latin based languages, especially for Cyrillic. And the Cyrillic itself has a variations, e.g. Bulgarian is not the same as Russian, or Serbian and Macedonian. I can live with this in these programs, but for Publisher it will be a deal breaker.

Opera reacted to pdussart in When will language versions be available?
Dear all,
this topic is not precise enough.
Do you mean that the user interface will be in English only for the beta version ?
Do you mean that the all spelling dictionaries are not yet available ? It seems impossible to change the spelling dictionary, say to French.
The present set-up is hard to test in non-English language, texts are hardly readable, hence not practical to manipulate
What about accented and special characters from other languages ?
How to deal with multilingual documents ?
If in practice the above mentioned features are not available, I would consider the product as alpha, .... and not worth testing.
Regards, Philippe

Opera reacted to Michail in When will language versions be available?
Thanks for the beta!
When will there be a German language version (and others)? I hope you don't wait until the purchase version is ready, as stated in the press release. This would limit the number of people who want to seriously test the beta.
With AD and AP that went quite well. The translation was not complete at the beginning, but then it became more and more complete.

Opera got a reaction from Fixx in Feature Request - Resizing dialog - A-Photo
Maybe this basic function can also be realized in the version 1.7.
A simple and complete standard resizing dialog for A-Photo.
Without such a standard dialog A-Photo unfortunately can never reach professional level.

Opera reacted to Petar Petrenko in Resizing document
Hi,
in Photoshop when we enter values in any field in "Image Size..." all other values are automatically changed, which is not a case in Photo. There is also "Reset" option when ALT button is pressed. Can we expect these changes in v. 1.7 in Photo?

Opera got a reaction from ABraitle in Final Version Affinity Photo released - can't be serious
Uhhh, just heard about the release of the final version. Can't believe that this buggy version can be a success. If the massive Bugs with the resizing function won't fixed, unfortunately a purchase makes no sense for me. :(
