  1. I hope so. It's not a single limitation Apple specifically designed in, but one of many limitations in how an iPad and an iPhone work, basically, from the beginning. iPads have moved much further into the workplace and professional use than Apple probably expected, and as you can see from the development, Apple has embarked on a long journey with iPadOS to make iPadOS a bit more usable for work tasks. It will probably take a long time, and for every adaptation of iPadOS, Serif will have to adapt Affinity in an upcoming release. Whether it will be the earliest or several releases later, we don't know. You need to think carefully about whether you really want a small Apple laptop when considering an iPad for work. Barry
  2. Obviously yes, but I'm illustrating the scenario where a person gets a client that has v1. If you as a company do not have v1 yourself already, there is no way to export to this client in an older Affinity format, as Affinity cannot export to older versions of its own format. It's a classic business scenario that I think people should be aware of. Barry
  3. I completely disagree with that! It is utterly counterfactual. Such a black and white statement can only come from someone who doesn't know about other people's use of programs like this. Unfortunately, I see a lot of statements about the handling of text and story editor functions in here that unfortunately clearly show a lack of industry knowledge - both in breadth and dept. This makes it incredibly difficult to have a professional dialog in here, which can be seen in how many threads end up in bickering, and it will, all other things being equal, harm the development of Affinity. If you don't understand what a story editor is used for by others, and that there are customers who need one, then I recommend that you step aside and let these customers explain their needs and wishes so that they and Serif can find a solution. Barry
  4. In that scenario it is good that you do have a copy of v1 because otherwise you wouldn't be able to send file your clients at all. v1 is not for sale anymore so keep it safe! Best Barry

  6. Yes, you can use both if you also purchase v2. BUT if you create documents in v2 and use your right of withdrawal, they cannot be opened in v1 at all or saved in v1 format. In that scenario, you will have to do various copy-paste tricks between v1 and v2 or export to PDF. Just so you know. 🙂
  7. The above tips are correct and with the move tool active, you can also double-click somewhere on the toolbar - most conveniently at the bottom - to switch between docked and floating.
  8. For what it's worth, I can at least confirm this resolved in the Photo 2.2 beta.
  9. Not easy to figure out this fix yourself. What exactly was the problem that was solved by renaming the folder, Serif?
  10. I don't understand how so many people spend so much energy focused on missing the obvious background to the original question that Walt interpreted and understood correctly. However, I did learn a little more about Windows Pro X.
  11. I especially like the detail with the painting that does not fit into the room/wall.
  12. I'll probably wait to use this until after it has matured a bit after a few releases with fixes, but for me it's useful news along with cross references. Best Barry
  13. This one is really, really good! Best Barry
  14. It's so good because in addition to technically accomplished drawing, you also showed the art of limitation! Best Barry
  15. Oh, it brings back so many memories of teenagers! Best Barry
  16. Very nice - you've given the car a lot of attitude - not just drawn it. Best Barry
  17. You've just learned a valuable lesson: beta versions are for testing only, and should never be used for real documents or real work. EDIT: Sorry, I thought you posted in the release version feedback section. Best Barry
  18. Maybe related Bryce? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/74416207/command-backtick-not-working-when-stage-manager-is-on
  19. I strongly disagree that this is a solution at any acceptable level for any customer. It has to be a setting in the programs. It's also common practice. Barry
  20. Great idea. But now I'm craving a cold beer and I don't have any in the house! From laughter to sigh in under a minute. Cheers Barry
