    Some time ago i started pushing myself to finish numerous sketches and doodles i make. So here are two of the latest, called "The water god" and "Snake&skull" Russian folk art inspires me a lot, and its a huge impact on my current style.     I dont know if this was discussed before, i haven't found it... I want to talk about some kind of really simple panel for taking notes about your design project. Personally i work as a UI and Web designer, and i get most of the tasks to do in my email or within Red Mine service. So it feels distracting to switch from AD to email to read the task again and back to AD. It would be much better to keep majority of the info related to the project you are working on right in your design. I often copy and paste my task into AD as a layer, but this is not totally cool - it brings some disorder into layers and your design, and eats some time too so i thought some kind of panel for different notes would be really cool addition to AD's functionality. - So the one purpose of it is to keep your task copy there. - Also, if you want to remember something or to write down some stuff about your current project - you can do this simply and easily read the notes about the project right in the project file! Its especially handy if you have to leave the project for some time and then come back to it - you will not forget anything! - Sharing files becomes easier - you may leave some notes to the person who will work with your file later. - If you have to work a lot with text - you just paste all the text you need into this panel and store it there. When you design specific paragraph - you just copy needed text from the notes panel and place it in the design you are doing. Some super creative people will be using this panel to make old school ASCII art :-) As to functionality, it should be simple, work with plain text and have the ability to import or export plain text files, this should be enough. But any additional functionality is always welcome )

    No, i did the layout of this newsletter. Its design... I use AD most of the time for digital design. But as to illustrations - i use AD for them too, of different style... I think i'll upload something here soon...

    Have the same thing, i found that it happens when i'm exporting a bunch of images and after i chose the export destination i cant use keyboard anywhere. I found that if i click AD icon i get some kind of Finder window, which i have to close and then keyboard start to work everywhere. My OS is Yosemite and AD is 1.4 Cant provide any screenshots right now cause i'm away. If i'll find some time tonight - i'll try to make screenshots.

    I have been using Affinity Designer for all my design-related tasks since may 2015. So here is just a current piece i'm working on - its a newsletter for government. But i also love to use AD for illustration and digital drawing and painting. Just because it is totally cool :)

    "Scale with object" option doesn't help? As far as i can see, enabling this option could help at least in situations when you need to make your object twice bigger... When you multiply the size of an object by the whole number... Still wanna try draw something with halftone myself and check it out )

    Thanks! If you search this well-known tutorial site for "Affinity Designer", you will find quite a bunch of tutorials there... Seems that they have found AD-related author...

    Those seem to be an individual dots... What if we use not dots but strokes, set to dashed and with right settings? Wanted to illustrate the process, but cant get image here, dunno why, no matter. Maybe this is an obvious method, i dont know ) So we just make a straight line with pen tool, open the stroke palette for it, make the stroke dashed and wide, lets say, 10 px. And also we make first dash 0,1 and second - 4. We get a correctly spaced line of dots, as long as we want. Next we just duplicate this line of dots, move it a lil bit down and right for example - end we get 2 lines of dots positioned in the manner of halftone pattern... From this point we can just duplicate these two lines as many times as we need an just correctly position them under our first lines... So the process gets really fast from this point. And if we need halftoned shapes, we just take this our texture and paste it in the shape we want... What do you think, guys?

    Hi Enrique! Nice idea! As for me, i would buy digital edition of book like this for sure. Not the printed one, for different reasons. And it must be about AD. I will not buy a book on Illustrator anymore :D

    I dont mind absolutely! Actually this is what i wanted, kinda work on something useful together with community to share experience and just to really find out nice workflows for AD. So thank you! ;)

    Hi! I made a simple template for my everyday web-design needs, which i'm glad to share. It contains five pseudo-artboards which are Desktop, Tablet Landscape 1024, Tablet Portrait 768, Mobile Landscape 480, Mobile Portrait 320. They all have semi-transparent grid over them so you can start quick. I think templates like this are good to emulate artboards untill we have real artboards in AD and are just nice way to start your design projects. Will be glad to know what you think of this template, any suggestions are welcome. Feel free to modify it in any way possible. AD-Web-Template1.afdesign

    Have made these letters for a newspaper coming out this September in Japan. This image is a preview, the letters will be published one by one each in a square. 100% Affinity Designer (which is super-cool!)
