  1. Hi Andy, Have you tried opening the PDF in Adobe Reader/Acrobat Pro? Preview doesn't always handle PDF files the same way as Adobe. How does the PDF look if you open it in any other software that you have that can open PDF files? Also, as Miguel stated, please upload/attach the images/files, perhaps including the PDF?
  2. Hi marsofearth, Have you tried exporting the Numbers table as a PDF and then importing the PDF into Designer? Paul.
  3. Hi evtonic3, Have you had any issues with PDF's exported at 150-200 dpi and 6ft deep or wide? Some banner makers prefer 300 dpi at half the finished size and then they enlarge to 200% during output (effective resolution of 150 dpi). Paul.
  4. Hi Hoots, It's probably best to get that information from the place that's producing the 6ft banner, most production places have a set of specifications and standards that they require. If their information looks like gibberish to you, let me have a look and maybe I can clarify it. Hope this is helpful, Paul.
  5. Hi High Desert, Can you mount your camera's storage as a volume on your Desktop? If so, you should be able to explore the Camera's folders, select the .NEF files & drag them to a location on the external hdd of your choosing. Hope this helps. Paul.
  6. Hi Guys, the Beta does not pick up that I have the MAS version installed. How do I fix it? Installed: Fails to open: Any help appreciated. Paul.
  7. Hi RealE605, You are not the first to ask this. I've attached a simple file, for a die (cut) line only, but I believe the principle is the same (achieved with the same method as JackofDiamonds has illustrated). Screenshot: Vector file: CutContour.afdesign Paul.
  8. Hi all, Just to clarify, I've uploaded an example (very low res) of the bitmap format that I was referring to (not .bmp necessarily). Screen shots of the Bitmap choices available in Photoshop: Original: Bitmap version: Paul.
  9. Hi ZVK, Choose View>Show Grid: Hope this helps. Paul.
  10. Hi WildCottage, Welcome to the forum. What model Mac are you presently using? It may run well on El Capitan, I've tried Yosemite & El Capitan booted from an external USB drive on a Mac Pro that is running Snow Leopard and the speed of the OS & apps were marginally faster than Snow Leopard! Because the Mac Pro did not have USB3 support for the USB3 drive I was using, boot up time was expectedly slower, but over all performance seemed snappier when running and Affinity Photo/Designer were heaps faster than Adobe's equivalents. Paul.
  11. As TonyB replied, PDF text handling in Illustrator has been a hassle for as long as I've been a graphic designer, this includes PDF files exported from InDesign – except when the original is constructed in Illustrator and then saved as PDF…
  12. Hi ferreirex, Do the lines appear in an exported PDF or when printed? Paul.
  13. Hi coop3842, As ferreirex has said, as long as both devices use the same Apple ID in the App Store then you should be able to click the 'Install' button in the 'Purchased' section: Paul.
  14. Hopefully the devs can find a way to improve the crop tool. As Photoline does not support Pantone spot colours, I see Affinity as still having more going for it.
  15. Hi p_mac, Have you tried disabling right click in the System Settings control panel for the mouse & using Control-Click for the contextual menu? Paul.
  16. Hi David, The crop tool in Affinity Photo behaves in a similar way. Based on how you need to use the crop tool, there seems to be two issues. One, you need to make sure the image you are cropping has already been re-sized to 150 ppi. Two, an exact decimal point measurement can't be achieved (probably adjusted to exact pixel values): Is this a fair assessment, David? Paul.

  18. Hi pjh, Others are reporting the same issue on the forum. I believe the devs are investigating. Paul.
  19. Hi Rosalie, I think that in the case of Photoshop Pantone files, it's because Affinity Photo doesn't support spot channels or Photoshop's Duotone (Monotone, Tritone etc.). Maybe one of the devs can confirm? Paul.
  20. Hi Freid, Welcome to the forum. :) Do you have any external hard drives attached to your Mac, that may have an older trial version installed to? Paul.
  21. Hallo Lars, Welcome to the forum. :) Is it possible to upload the original .afdesign file for checking? Thanks, Paul.
