  1. I tried it out and did not get a great result (although I have to say that I just gave it some minutes) The plant in front moved and gets blurry I found "maximum" option not to bad but of course you then get star tracks so this does not really work. The thing is that the stack aligns the images but it does not distort the actual layer .... It distorts it in a linear way - don't know how to say it but it can't make every point fit at the same time. See how it goes for you though ...
  2. And let's don't forget the coming full featured iOS apps of AP and AD (not shure about APub put probably as well) :))
  3. My thought would be to alt+drag an gradient point (further referred to as the "1st" one) to another part of the gradient to create a new point there with the color of the 1st one And when it's dropped over an already existing point it should change its color the the 1st one.
  4. Relay interesting! 23% smaller afphoto file size would be quite appreciated ;) Maybe it has something to do with pre rendered stuff (just a guess) (I've once suggested to make an option for only saving the base image and the history and then recreating the base image with the history applied to it as an option for small file sizes ... never got an reply on that...)
  5. W810i really? It was my second mobile phone and I just loved it! But after 1,5 years I guess the screen broke.... Well you probably will have to get some sort of iPad in the future to run the Affinity apps on it as well (teasing :) ) But I´ve not got one at the moment myself either.
  6. ..they programmed it in C or whatever derivate from that and also don´t use any apple stuff except for some of the UI have to get rid about one thing about apple: new 4k iMac RAM is tinned into place - as well as the mac minis ones for a year i guess ... WHAT?!
  7. I hope they never go with windows. There are many things to do on the mac first (DAM :) and even the iOS Apps!!!!!!). I´ll avoid windows like plaque and so would I advice everyone, get a used mac and there you go! Mac just has a fantastic community which is really represented by this gorgeous forum! Windows is mainly used by the people who have to because of certain programs (office workers) and those who are afraid to change to mac because they´re told nothing would be compatible. There are few who really made the decision to windows (they are overrepresented in this forum IMO). Jasper- great post from Tony by the way :))))) *big smile* sidenote: not everything with an apple on it is golden and there are significant things that would need improvement and have to be criticized - but far less than with windows
  8. I´m still not talking about AP https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/13792-feature-request-affinity-lightroom-killer/?p=61067 but about a separate program.
  9. Do you plan this one update which will be second to none? :D haha
  10. "We are going to make a professional Affinity DAM application - stay tuned in 2016 for more information ;)" sounds pretty much like a separate application I don´t care about the catalog at all. I´d like to make some sort of smart previews for my macbook to save some storage and use DNG and I´d like to scale down RAWs (sort of Nikons medium RAW) when converting them to DNG. And it should be fast and have batch processing (synching of adjustments/ metadata) and some basic adjustments as Lightroom. And Tethering. And a smart folder and standard folder system along with virtual copies. But the devs know how great software is like anyway so....
  11. The DAM would be a separate program so AP will be untouched from any library stuff. And how should a DAM work without a catalog? The thing is that the catalog is easily accessible and even Lightroom has an intact folder structure for the pictures in the background (not like Apple Photos mess). And for edits on RAW files - I think they would not use an afphoto file for each conversion so they´ll use an sort of sidecar thing for sure.....
  12. Publisher will come early 2016 so it´s nearly there and even news about a DAM from Affinity are announced for 2016! So it´s looking very good for you :) And Affinity Photo and Designer are also suitable for light tasks and I´m very sure Publisher will be no exception from this!
  13. Regarding Bridge/ Lightroom I´m very happy to share this post https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/13792-feature-request-affinity-lightroom-killer/?p=61067 which says "We are going to make a professional Affinity DAM application - stay tuned in 2016 for more information ;)" So you´ll need a little bit of patience but then you´ll probably get one of the best (fastest) Photo viewing and management systems available :) - with a great connection to the other Affinity Apps! currently Affinity Publisher is in the Pipeline for early 2016 so that´s the reason why the DAM is not there yet. apart from that there is a media Browser in Affinity Photo which I don´t use but some do use and even like it. I´m not sure about freehand files (I´m more on the photo side of things) but you can always go for the PDF format which Affinity supports with much effort. (wrote their own advanced export engine which will be available in the next update). For design stuff you would use Affinity Designer. It has Vector and Pixel capabilities and you always have the option to switch between AP and AD seamlessly - they can read bot files 100%. So that´s awesome as well :)
  14. Or you could use the impainting brush (even on a new layer non destructively - just select in the top bar "use current layer and below")
  15. the next MAS version update is going to be HUGE!!!!! :))

  16. I´ve also send an PSD with a SmartObject in it that opens not properly and it´s not fixed in the current beta...I think it´s not a so easy thing..
  17. Funny approach :) Just duplicate the layer Apply the gausian blur (even possible as a live filter) Set blend mode of the duplicated layer to lighten Apply a mask, invert it and paint with white to show the effect ;)
  18. Its just a guess but I think they found a solution them self because they will bring auto alignment to AP and I think the algorithm might be similar?!
  19. 1. Ja, auf bis zu zwei Macs mit einer Apple ID 2. es kommt demnächst als kontenloses Update für die MAS Version. Also sobald es reibungslos klappt. 3. Es ist halt eine Beta und dementsprechend noch hier und da mal fehlerträchtig, außerdem ist Crop oder Bleed oder Overprint noch nicht drin aber das kommt auch demnächst (kostenloses Update). Or in Englisch: Yes ;)
  20. Apart from i7, i5 I'd wait for the next iteration of Intel processors which will arrive in the next monts. There will probably also be an 21inch 4K iMac.
