Stitches Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Hi everyone, Is there a way to change/edit the order of categories in the brushes panel? I loaded some brushes by double-clicking on them after unzipping them and they loaded out of order. See image please. I'm finding it makes it difficult to remember which brushes are where and I like things in order. Many thanks! EthanDM and emmest 2 Quote
Staff Callum Posted September 6, 2019 Staff Posted September 6, 2019 Hi Stitches, There is no way to organise the brushes panel at this time. Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

This is a feature I would really like to see added, but not as much as a way to export & import multiple selected categories in a single step. As it is now, for those of us that own all 3 apps, it is a real PITA to set up each of them so that they all have the same categories in the same order. Including StudioLink's personas in Affinity Publisher, that is 5 separate sets of brush categories -- 2 sets of vector brushes & 3 sets of pixel brushes, each of which could have different categories with a different number of brushes in each of their categories in different orders. What would be really great is a separate companion app that could manage all this in one place, with features like finding identical brushes regardless of category, bulk renaming of identical categories or brushes, syncing categories across all the apps, etc. Even just a way to create a list of brush names in a hierarchic layout would be a good start, sortable by app, vector or raster brush type, category, etc., & exportable as tab or comma separated text for importing into a spreadsheet app. Hilltop, EthanDM, jmwellborn and 1 other 4 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

Stitches Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 Hi everyone. What I wound up doing was uninstalling and reinstalling my brushes in order. This still doesn't let me group sets of brushes in say a category for nature or illustration. Thanks @Callum for the response. I agree with @Hilltop and @R C-R about having the ability to organize brushes down the proverbial road. EthanDM 1 Quote
Engelbert Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 I agree this is a much needed feature. I don't like to have to scroll down just to select the categories I use 90% of the time. EthanDM 1 Quote
