PrestoBismol Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 First of all, big fan of Affinity Designer. I've been using it almost totally for a year now. Nearly all of my graphics projects at work outside of animation and video have been completed using Affinity products. Of course, there are a few things that could be made better. Here is a comparison of Designer's "Expand Stroke" function and Illustrator's "Outline Stroke" function on something as simple as a circle with a stroke. Affinity's nodes are seemingly random with a collection of nodes at the top, while illustrator maintains the minimum number of nodes to create the shape. It is almost impossible to work with the random collection of nodes that Designer presents when working with basic geometry. I would love if this could be fixed somehow! Jowday 1 Quote

You are not alone with this finding. It was discussed several times and there are statements from the developers that this is a known issue and they are working on. This is an older post on the topic: In this more recent post the particular problem finds a workaround (but does not solve the problem itself ) This is a statment of one of the programmers: So, we can hope to see a fix at some time. Thank you for raising the issue again, but expect 18 months of waiting before a fix is released - if it is ready for the next release. That is the average timespan between releases.
