Roland Rick
Emojis do not show up in Artistic Text. I tried with Helvetica, which is a Unicode font and should work for that, shouldn't it? However, I also tried with the Emoji font itself and also the "Pictographs" from macOS "Show Emoji & Symbols", the pictographs are partially showing up correct but not all of them. Please see attached video. Staff Sean P Posted June 28, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 28, 2019 Hi Roland Rick, Unfortunately we don't support these yet. According to development the option on the menu (and therefore the keyboard shortcut) is given to us from Apple and is not something we can remove. Roland Rick
Thanks for reply. Phew, this is strange, because in e.g. FCPX titles you may use Emojis without any problem. And please don't misunderstand the shortcut hint in the video. I just wanted to mention to you, this is the shortcut I am using to get that Emoji box popping up to select one of the Emojis, it has nothing to do with the bug report (which is in this case no longer one) itself nor with Designer. However, you are not alone, Ps CC 2019 neither can Enjoy the upcoming weekend! Craig Grummitt
For anyone wanting an emoji regardless of whether it's an image or inline text, I've discovered you can insert the emoji you want in a document in Pages, export as PDF, import the PDF into Affinity Designer, and grab the image. atineoSE
iMacatemyphotoshop
To insert Apple emoji in Affinity while using a Mac with an up-to-date OS: Type the emojis in either Pages or a Text doc. You can access the emoji keyboard from the keyboard symbol in your Mac's menu bar--top right. If it's not there, go to Keyboard prefs and put a check next to the option to put it in your menu bar. (Use the text-size thing to make them as big as you'll need because otherwise you'll have to resize in Affinity and it can go blurry.) Capture the emoji using a Screenshot. Access this by holding down Shift Command 5. Click the dashed rectangle in the app menu bar. A big dashed rectangle with handles appears on your screen. Drag the handles to select. When you release the handles you'll hear a click like a camera shutter going off. Go to Affinity. In the Edit menu, select Paste (or just use Control-V) and voila! The emoji appears as a layer in your document. If you don't like remembering keyboard shortcuts, you can put the Screenshot app in your dock. Locate it with Finder and drag its icon onto your dock to the left of the first vertical line in the dock. You can use it to capture anything on the screen, including images that you want to make use of in your Affinity programs. Method is the same as above. If you have an old Mac OS that doesn't yet have the Screenshot app, you can capture emojis or any other image on your screen by holding down Shift-Command-4-Control, at which a crosshairs appears. While you continue to hold down the 4 keys, drag the crosshairs to create a selection rectangle over whatever you want to paste into Affinity. (It's really hard to do this with only 2 hands, but if you happen to be an octopus with fingers on multiple tentacles, it's a piece of cake.) ashf
Mono color emoji can be used. Copy emoji you want here.https://getemoji.com/ Then paste it onto Microsoft Word or LibreOffice, emoji show up as mono color style. This can be pasted onto Affinity.
