RVGK
No can do - text proprietary But there are many more instances in the pdf export The Insert command reads: "<NBHY>" Tried pasting a non-breaking hyphen from Nisus onto the Affinity hyphen but get - - (double dash)
superpixel
I can confirm this and it is super easy to reproduce: just insert a Non-Breaking Hyphen in an Affinity Publisher document and export a PDF. What you should get: You see the Non-Breaking Hyphen in the PDF. What you actually get: The Non-Breaking Hyphen is not visible, but instead an empty frame. Like the missing Glyph character. Sample files attached: The Publisher document and a generated PDF of it. nodeus
I confirm the problem. This problem also occurs when printing a document with Non-Breaking hypens from Affinity Publisher directly to printer. Quote designer butcher — nodeus.ru

Staff Gabe Posted July 24, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2019 Unfortunately, the only workaround is to rasterise the text...

I can’t test this right now, but I expect that ‘Convert to Curves’ would work (and it would be my preferred method if it does). Staff Gabe Posted July 24, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2019 Yep. That would work too. Completely forgot about convert to curves Alfred
thomaso
Instead of curved or rasterized text you possibly might prefer another solution/workaround: 1. With the relevant text selected activate the "No break" checkbox in Character Panel > Positioning and Transform. 2. Replace the Non-Breaking Hyphen with a normal. This way it appears to prevent a break, too but without getting the buggy boxes: Stefanoc and Alfred 2 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
