Hiro2001
The way I like to sharpen is to convert the format to LAB16. Create an Unsharp mask, do the sharpening and then revert back to RGB format. I have done the same task in AP v1.6.7 and Beta using the same file. I don't get the same results in Beta as v1.6.7 and much prefer the results from v1.6.7. I don't think it is working correctly. Also, I prefer the full text menu on v1.6.7 for Live Filters and Adjustments when selecting them in the Layers menu, rather than the High Pass... text seen in Beta. Staff Gabe Posted May 1, 2019 Staff Share Posted May 1, 2019 Hi @Hiro2001, Can you please provide us with sample files so we can see what's going on? I do not see any difference between the 2. Thanks, Gabe.
Hiro2001
GabrielM Sorry but I don't understand. I don't know how to send you a sample file. If you just mean use one of my RAW files, I don't see what difference that will make. When I use the same RAW file in Beta and v1.6.7. I see almost an immediate change in the photo when raising the factor slider in v1.6.7 but I don't see any change doing the same in Beta. How are you converting to LAB and applying an Unsharp Mask in the Develop Persona? I think what @GabrielM would want is an unprocessed file (just open your RAW file, do nothing else to it, and then save it with a name like "For GabrielM") from Photo 1.6.7 so he could open it in both that and the beta. For adding a file you just click on the choose files... section underneath the reply box, or you can drag and drop one into the message. Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Hiro2001
I've quickly looked up what Metal compute is and my iMac does support it but this is something I was unaware of so whatever happens in v1.6.7 is the same as in Beta. Hiro2001

Hiro2001
OK, this is beyond my knowledge and I take your word for it. All I'm saying is I haven't made any changes between v1.6.7 and Beta but do see a marked difference in how the sharpening is working.
