Staff Lee D Posted April 15, 2019 Staff Posted April 15, 2019 Hi Rene, Welcome to the forums. If you have two eclipses placed on the canvas, set the Fill to None on the Context Toolbar. Then make sure the Stroke is set to a Width that you are happy with. It will then just be a case of positioning them to look like the example you uploaded. Quote
firstdefence Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Affinity Photo Draw an ellipse, set the fill to none and the stroke to 1-2 px Duplicate it Make the duplicate ellipse smaller than the first by dragging the bounding box points inwards To get the notches Select the node tool On the outer ellipse add a node to either side of the existing node at each of the notch points Change the centre node to a sharp node Pull the centre node on each notch point in to meet the inner ellipse. Alfred Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 1. Draw an ellipse with a stroke and no fill 2. Select the ellipse and ‘Expand Stroke’ 3. Draw four triangles with points overlapping the ellipse 4. ‘Add’ the four triangles 5. Select the added triangles and the ellipse 6. ‘Subtract’ the triangles from the ellipse 7. Apply a thin stroke to the new shape and set its fill to ‘None’ Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
R C-R Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Hi Rene, A suggestion for future reference: give the topics you start a descriptive name, like for this topic something like "how do i convert this to lines?" Using your name as a topic title doesn't tell us anything about the issue ... assuming of course that your name is not an issue you want help with!
