Gradient Tool --> Stroke -- Verlauf --> Kontur

Hi,

I'm trying to use the Gradient tool to create a colored Kontor around a circle. But I do not succeed. I always get a whole filling. What should I do? In addition, I find no button like "Run" or "Cancel".

Ich versuche mit dem Verlaufswerkzeug eine farbige Kontor um einen Kreis zu erzeugen. Das gelingt mir aber nicht. Ich bekomme immer wieder eine ganze Füllung. Was ist zu tun? Außerdem finde ich keine Schalfläche wie "Ausführen" oder "Abbrechen".

Hi, @Guzzi. To apply a stroke you need to have an object. All you have is a selection.

Rather than using the Elliptical Marquee Tool, try the Ellipse Tool:

Draw the circle you want using the Ellipse Tool, and then set the Fill to none and the Stroke to the gradient you want using the Context Toolbar:

I did that however with the tool "ring". But what then is "Gradient Tool -> Stroke"? And what is the difference in AP between a selection and an object?

Das habe ich geschafft jedoch mit dem Werkzeug "Ring".  Aber wozu ist dann "Gradient Tool --> Stroke" ? Und was ist der Unterschied bei AP zwischen einer Auswahl und einem Objekt?

Hello Guzzi,
A pixel selection isolates part of the image to apply adjustments or retouching to that area.
Likewise, a pixel selection can be copied and cut out, and be pasted into another image area.
Objects are vector graphics that can be scaled lossless, unlike pixel graphics.

Eine Pixelauswahl isoliert einen Teil des Bildes, um Anpassungen oder Retusche auf diesem Bereich anzuwenden.
Ebenso kann eine Pixelauswahl kopiert und ausgeschnitten werden, und in andere Bildbereiche einfügt werden.
Objekte sind Vektorgrafiken, die verlustfrei skaliert werden können, im Gegensatz zu Pixelgrafiken.
Ich hoffe es hilft ein wenig.

Das Gradient Tool / Verlaufswerkzeug / Stroke/ Kontur dient dazu die Kontur von einem Vektor-Objekt mit einem Verlauf zu füllen/färben. Es ist redundant zu Stroke / Kontur beim Erstellen von Vektor-Objekten mit z.B. Pfadwerkzeug, Ring, Rechteck usw.

 

The gradient tool/stroke is for the colour/gradients of strokes of vector objects. It's redundant to stroke color/gradient  at the creation of vectorbased objects like the pen-tool or ellipse tool. (Sorry for my bad english)

Thanks to Gnobelix and Ray. But it is not easy to understand. Apparently I understand under contour something other than Serif. A contour is a delineation, no matter what the content is - right? Would another name be more understandable?

Dank an Gnobelix und Ray. Aber es ist für nicht einfach zu verstehen. Anscheinend verstehe ich unter Kontur etwas anderes als Serif. Eine Kontur ist eine Abgrenzung, egal wie der Inhalt ist - oder? Wäre eine andere Bezeichnung verständlicher?
