Jim Stewart Posted February 5, 2019 Author Posted February 5, 2019 Madame...thanks for the look, but the "solution" didn't work for me. Quote
JimmyJack Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Mystery wrapped in a puzzle! What I find interesting is the fact that the locked bounding box is floating in a white field. And your UI background color is not set to white. Are you sure you didn't do any resizing or other operation? Is it like that before you add the Levels adjustment? (...I've opened Canon Powershot sx530 HS jpgs without incident.) Would it be possible to just save what your seeing as a .afphoto file and post it here to see if it happens on other machines? Quote

Jim Stewart Posted February 5, 2019 Author Posted February 5, 2019 Hmm...that isolates it to my laptop. Interesting. Preview works fine. iPhoto worked great until last week. Now, it's not displaying in the viewing area, but does show at the Import level, same behavior we're trying to understand here. That's why I bought Affinity. Maybe my graphics card is dying. Or something is suddenly incompatible. I will have to wander off and try another tack. Thank you very much for your time, everybody. Jim Quote
Staff MEB Posted February 5, 2019 Staff Posted February 5, 2019 Hi Jim, As stated by TonyB this is likely an issue related with the graphic card. As a last resort please press and hold ⌃(ctrl) until a Clear User Data dialog appears, keep the first three checkboxes ticked then press Clear to reset the app. It probably won't do/fix the issue but it's worth trying. That worked. Thanks. Sadly, I still can't see the photo in the viewing area. Quote
