Guest
When using Document Resize, when changing the dpi (with no resampling) the dimensions do not dynamically change - the window doesn't show the new dimensions of the document. The only way to see the new dimensions is to click Resize and then re-open Document Resize.
Guest
To clarify: If I have an image that is 10 inches by 10 inches at 100dpi and I open Document Resize and uncheck 'resample' and double the dpi, the image should now be 5 inches by 5 inches. But the Document Resize window doesn't reflect this change. The only way to see the new dimensions is to 'Resize' and then reopen Document Resize. This is a pain. Photoshop can do this. Is this a bug or a new feature?

Technically, it is neither: updating the dimmed out dimensions is more of an unimplemented feature, one users have been asking to be implemented since the first Affinity app was released. So far, that hasn't helped making it more of a priority. Guest
Thank you for letting me know. This seems like a very basic (missing) feature.
Fixx
I would really appreciate if this unimplemented feature would be implemented.
Staff Gabe Posted October 8, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hi all. This is not a bug, but more of a feature request as mentioned by @R C-R. Thanks, Gabe. Moved to feature requests.

Curently the shown dimensions are wrong (when changing the dpi and not resampling). That's not a feature, but correcting a mistake in the application. Staff MEB Posted October 8, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hi Markeeee, Welcome to Affinity Forums Here's a tip that may help until this get sorted: assuming the Resample box is already unticked enter the dpi you want then press Enter (to make sure the input filed in not selected anymore otherwise it will not work), then tick Resample and untick again. The correct size in inches should be displayed in the input fields without the need to close that dialog. Guest
Thanks for the work around, but this is still a bug. In Photoshop it just works. The dimensions dynamically change, when the dpi is changed.
Staff MEB Posted October 8, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 8, 2018 Yes, Photoshop allows both ways but currently Affinity doesn't. I've filled a report for this some time ago but there wasn't progress here yet. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
