Add Current Date and Filename Text Variables

It would be nice if you can add more text variables like filename, file creation date, file saved date.

Have you looked at View > Studio > Fields > Document Statistics ? Filename, creation date, saved date are all there.

How can we use that information in the document?

I would like to use a text box with some text variables in it, so it will update automatically when I change the file and save. Variable print date and filename is very handy.

Double-click one of them when the text caret is active.

That's excellent, I was looking for the same feature. And we can even decide which format and language to insert dates and times in. Well done.

I found that, if you change the filename of an existing file using the "Save As" command, the field is not updated. It still shows the original filename, even after closing the program and re-opening. By the way, it wasn't clear where you have to double click to enter the filename in the document. You have to double click on the word "Title", NOT on the filename itself.

Correction to my previous post. The filename field under "Document Statistics" IS updated. It's the "Title" field under "Document Information" that is not.

In my Mac 10.14 system preferences I made my date like this: 2018.10.04, because I prefer. In Apub it is not possible to get the same output in the  date field. Is it possible to change this?

Can't get the dots, it uses dashes. 

Yes it would be nice to just get the info from the OS system preferences.

I know where to find, but it would be nice if the date takes the ones from the system preferences, or edit in Apub.

This is a bit strange; The word Definitief is automatically changed into Defi nitief in the text field.

Found out it has to do with Ligatures. When switching off, the word is written (Definitief) as expected.
