Staff stokerg Posted August 17, 2018 Staff Share Posted August 17, 2018 Yes i know they dont have closed captions. We are in the process of remaking some/all tutorials for Photo iPad which do include closed captions, sorry if that wasn't clear from my first reply. John Rostron
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a 'closed caption'? And why would it matter? Alfred
Closed captions are subtitles, generated either manually or automatically. YouTube offers the latter option, which often works quite well, but Vimeo doesn’t seem to have this feature (so you only get subtitles if the video maker goes to the trouble of adding them). John Rostron
I take it then that closed captioning is providing a text in addition to the audio narrative. I would never have guessed just from the name. I have now googled it (which I should have done earlier). I much prefer to read text rather than listen to narrative. I keep my speakers muted most of the time, only unmuting them if I particularly need or want to listen to something.
