JLST Genius Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 This new photo designer app or photography app is just really Beautiful, i got to say. The design that is built in to this app is just really simple and Beautiful. Just awesome. One thing i want to request is that can you please when this application is released, don't make the prices too high be considerate. i know like photoshop is like a strategic business development but people just don't want to be paying for an app and not getting it permanently. So think of a different strategic business plan like every update needs to pay but not really necessary. So Engineers could work to the fullest at mikng this product cause they want people to buy the update, but please make the payment temporary. Not forcing you to do it, just an advice :) Quote

iphoto Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 50 bucks is a fair one. But I don't know, which one I need more: Designer or Photo. Is there a bundle price? Or do you have a feature comparison of both, so I can better choose? I just started to compare by myself with the demo editions, but 10 day is a short period. Thanx. Quote
Hokusai Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 iphoto, $50 a piece or $100 for both is already an incredible price for Photo and Designer so I would doubt that there would be a cheaper "bundle price" (who knows, maybe they will offer one down the road once Publisher is released). It is easy to decide between Photo and Designer. Do you work with Photos and raster based images? Then choose Photo. If you work primarily with vector images then go with Designer. I would recommend buying them both, I don't think that $100 is all that expensive considering what you are getting. They are worth every cent. Hokusai Quote
Wiredframe Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Honestly, I think Designer and Photo should be 199$ each and 349$ bundled. Designer and Photo are professional tools that slowly replace Adobes monopoly and it has to be reflected by the price. Quote
Staff MattP Posted June 22, 2016 Staff Posted June 22, 2016 It's not currently possible to offer a 'bundle' price on the Mac App Store - and that's our sole distribution channel at present... You might occasionally find one or the other product at a 20% discount on the App Store, but we'll only discount if we're celebrating something. Incidentally, I found the other day that you can quite often buy discounted iTunes gift cards (often 20% off) if you search around the internet and buy from somewhere reputable :) Thanks, Matt Quote
Felonius Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I can't believe people are seriously griping at the price of these apps. Corel is charging $500 for their vector/raster app combo platter. Having experience with both, I know for a fact that PhotoPlus X8 for Windows is BETTER than Corel's raster app, and Affinity Photo will be that much better. I'd happily pay $150 each ($300 for both apps). Serif is charging 1/3 of that price. And we won't even mention the elephant in the room *cough*Adobe CC*cough*. Quote
michacassola Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I agree with the price being absolutely low and great! I think you are new to serif JLST? If you knew them you'd be aware of their great price policy! Thanks Serif! Quote
