How to shift drag?

How do you do an action similar to shift dragging on the desktop so an item stays perfectly lined up to where it came from?

In the iPad version of Designer,  Single finger hold (on screen) whilst moving object will constrains the object’s move angle to 45 degree intervals.

At least for me, I have to place the hold finger on the screen after I start the drag.
