UI Improvements

Recommended Posts

I find myself not using Affinity Photo and Designer when I want to quickly knock out a sketch or alpha map, etc. It takes too long to open, go through the dialouge, etc. Could you create an option for them to open automatically (and quickly!) to a preset (e.g. a 2000 x 2000 px) and avoid the dialouge stuff? I love Mischief for this sort of thing, or Procreate, b/c they just get you to the work without breaking the flow.

(or, if that's possible now, let me know how to set it up?)

Thanks, Kevin

if you mean the welcome screen you can disable this:

there are no presets for the startup, but you can create a empty file and use this as a template.

Not the welome screen, the New Document dialougue. Going through the settings (same for exporting) takes too much time for quick work.

Why don't you keep a blank APh document with the desired dimensions on your, say, desktop (or a presets folder)? Then you can double click this file and APh opens with your preferred settings and you are ready to work :)

Just do not overwrite it :-)

Ideally set it to Read Only.

Alternatively, make sure you ‘Save As...’ to a new name immediately after you open it (but setting it to read-only is obviously safer).

That's a good idea. One also could keep copies in a seperate folder, just in case. But the 'read only' option is definitely the way to go.

Cheers,
