Bento Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi Everyone, i'm not sure if it's a bug, but i use "insert filler text" a lot, so i decided to give it a shortcut. Usualy when i use the text menu i get classic "Lorem ipsum", but since i have created a shortcut i have what seems to me pieces of "Alice in wonderland". Is that known? Looks like an easter egg of some sort. Haven't found options to set it to "Lorem ipsum". Any idea? Thx ! Chris_K Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Hi Bento This is an easter egg which appears depending on the shortcut you use. Feel free to have fun with it! cheers Alfred 1 Quote Serif Europe Ltd - Check the latest news at www.affinity.serif.com
carl123 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Alternatively, just hold the Shift key down when Inserting Filler Text to invoke Alice and her merry gang IanSG and Alfred 2 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Bento Posted June 7, 2019 Author Posted June 7, 2019 I've taken my best showel to dig that post up. In 2018, when i discovered this easter egg, i was pretty amused. 2019, i've tried different shortcuts to workaround the easter egg and have lorem ipsum placeholder text instead, but can't find one. I use the menu text > insert filler text, maybe nearly 30 times a day, when i make UI design... And i would appreciate to be able to use a shortcut instead... Any clue, solution, workaround, trick, so that i can have lorem ipsum with shortcut? Thx Quote Art Director at Tribu And Co | French web agency - See our work at http://www.tribu-and-co.fr

I have started to think about UI design, I am by no means a graphic designer or claim to have any skills. I own both designer and photo for Mac and IPad and the tutorials books for the products. Just starting out on my long journey into design and coming across your post, can I ask why you use affinity over sketch for UI design? I know designer has so many more benefits over sketch as it isn’t a one trick pony, and I already own it so I have no more occurring fees. That in mind a lot of people are using sketch which I assume for the simplicity and plugins. My question would be as a complete newbie would sketch help me get going and learn key topics without the learning curve of a more complex tool set, or just ignore sketch and dive deep in designer ? Bento Posted June 7, 2019 Author Posted June 7, 2019 @walt.farrell I feel dumb about not even thinking of that... Thx it works perfectly @2sticks That's a wide question, that needs a wide answer. I've been making UI since 2009, using Fireworks instead of Photoshop. I still think it was the good option. I use Sketch, Figma, and other many tools from time to time. But for me, as prototyping tools they can be great, but none of them offers a wide range of possibilities (creativity) as AD. All of them have things missing either AD does (CSS values, direct export to online services like Zeplin, Symu, InVision, plugins..) At the end i would just say, test them all, learn to know them all (as you might need them on some projects, and so you can compare). And for your daily routine choose the one that fits your needs. walt.farrell 1 Quote Art Director at Tribu And Co | French web agency - See our work at http://www.tribu-and-co.fr
