andreawi Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Hey there, I've got a question: whenever I export a photo I edited especially to make the background blurry, the blur won't show up on the exported jpg even though it's there on the preview in the exporting persona. I definitely have both background and foreground selected but it just won't work - getting a little frustrated here, maybe anyone can help me? I attached a screenshot to show you the problem thanks for your help in advance Quote
toltec Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 It would be more helpful if we could see the file. Background blurred and picture exported as a JPEG. File > Export (No Persona !) Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
John Rostron Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 This background looks pretty blurred to me. It also seems to show the halo recently mentioned here. HVDB Photography Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 How to avoid halo when blurring ? - make the precise selection, feather a bit and duplicate on a new layer - use the inpainting or clone brush to clone the selected area with surrounding parts - fade/blur the image as desired - merge both - done Alfred and Paul Mudditt 2 Quote Affinity Photo 2.3.1 Laptop MSI Prestige PS42 Windows 11 Home 23H2 (Build 22631.3007) - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.00 GHz - RAM 16,0 GB

CTRL + click on the thumbnail of the layer containing the copy of the selection Marching ants appear Select > Feather - in this case I"ve chosen a small radius of 3px Quote Affinity Photo 2.3.1 Laptop MSI Prestige PS42 Windows 11 Home 23H2 (Build 22631.3007) - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.00 GHz - RAM 16,0 GB
