Randall1028
I setup guides in my document on my iPad, but when I go back to my paintbrush to utilize said guides, they completely disappear. I notice they stay visible for some other tools (pen tool, move tool, etc...) but paintbrush and eraser they vanish. Am I doing something wrong and need to select something so they stay visible regardless what tool I’m using? Thanks!

Paul Morgan
This problem seems stiil not fixed, or am I missing something. Would be very helpful to work with guides (and brushes)
CunningTurtle00
March 18th, 2018 and this is still an issue. I know I'm not the only one who would like to use guides. Is this going to be addressed anytime in the future?
Jeff C
July now, and I’m seeing this on Designer for iPad. I can’t use guides at all on pixel layers with pencil or brush tools. ytorf
JonnyS
1 year later it seems like this is still a problem Devs? ytorf
ytorf
It’s the end of 2020 and this is still an issue. Really frustrating to deal with. Still no solution coming?
— Miriam
I’m having the same problem. I guess I'll have to create a layer & draw lines. This is frustrating. Having guides for a drawing program seems like a basic feature that should be available. (Especially if it aims to be comparable to Photoshop. )
NotMyFault
Not fully solving the issue, but this hidden feature might come close (drawing straight lines on iPad with brush): The guides will help visually to define the endpoints. If you have more complex designs, using pen tool with a suitable brush will be the better tool. — Miriam
I tried creating a layer & drawing lines to use for guides, and it ended up working well. It was easy to turn the layer off or on as needed. I'd still like Affinity to fix the issue, but this will suffice in the meantime. And yes, I've used the "Constrain" feature (holding down a finger, or pressing the "Shift" key) to make straight lines (but I use guides for a lot of other things, too). Thanks for sharing this solution for those who aren't aware of it.
