lolajl
I want to draw a box that is EXACTLY 5.25 by 5.25 inches. I know I need to select the Rectangle Tool. But when I draw the box it displays measurements by 3 decimal points, so I never get 5.25, just something below or above that. Even holding down the Sift key doesn't get me anywhere near that. Is Affinity Photo capable of doing that, or do I need to use another application? Thanks!
harrym
At work so can't try this right now but maybe create a new document file of the exact size fill/draw as required, select all and copy paste into original document? Regards

You can also draw out a rectangle close to the needed size and then use the Transform tab and enter the exact width and height. You can alter the amount of decimal points that are displayed by going into the Preferences of Affinity and on the User Interface section you can lower or increase the decimal point. R C-R
@lolajl Welcome to the forums! A few things you might find useful if you are not already aware of them: • The user preference for decimal places only affects the displayed numbers. Internally, the decimal precision of the Affinity apps is very high, something like to 10 decimal places or more. Entering numbers in fields like in the Transform panel will ensure that the exact values you enter will be used, without any hidden or rounded off to fewer decimal place. • You are not limited to entering numbers in numeric fields. You can also use a wide variety of expressions, including fractions, percentages, mathematical constants, & variables. A list of all of them can be found in the Expressions for field input help topic in the Workspace > More section. You can alter the number of decimal places that are displayed, but there will never be more than one decimal point. ;) However, as @R C-R has pointed out, the setting only affects the displayed numbers, not the internal precision.
