Bruno Rhuan
Starting a new work. Trying to make a minimalist calendar based on Harry Potter characters, with a quote related too. Who's this one? PDF file - if maybe you're a fan like me and want to print - http://www.4shared.com/office/EJ7KR4s7ba/Harry_Potter_Calendar_-_Januar.html MattP and Freshblue

Staff MattP Posted January 23, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 23, 2015 SNAPE! (with a reference to Lily) Yes, I am a huge fan - I have watched every movie more times than I can remember and have it on numerous different media! Can't wait to see the rest of the calendar! :D

Bruno Rhuan
Bloody hell! It's a little bit late, but it's March, alright? PDF: http://www.4shared.com/office/SQhi0IjCce/Harry_Potter_Calendar_-_March.html
Staff MattP Posted March 5, 2015 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2015 Looks great! I really like the texture on the tartan! :D I'm going to hazard a guess at Gilderoy Lockhart, but I must confess I'm not certain - it looks so familiar that I'm kicking myself but I'm just not 100% sure?.... RobinK
Isn´t it Ron wearing his yule ball "dress"? Bwt: which effect do you use to get this grain-like paper effect on the first 2 pictures?
Staff MEB Posted March 6, 2015 Staff Share Posted March 6, 2015 Hi RobinK, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) That effect is called Noise. You can find it at the bottom of the Colour panel. If its displaying the Opacity slider instead, click on the small circle near the name to change it to Noise. You can also access it through the Fill/Stroke buttons on the context toolbar for some tools (Move, Node, Shapes tools etc) Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Bruno Rhuan
Yah, thats Ron! And I´m using the Noise effect, as MEB just said. I think in the last one (March) I made something wrong during the rendering process so I may have exagerated the effet a bit.
