Steve "Ed" Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Hello, AN Affinity Publisher weirdness: I sometimes write dates with a superscript th as in 15th. Carry on typing in that text box and all is as it should be. Sometimes when I start a new text box, the Superscript box is still enabled and I have to manually click to "none" in Character to sort it out. It appears a bit random - well I might not be seeing a patten. It never happens unless I have need to use a Superscript. Any thoughts are welcome. Steve Mac 24, M1 with Publisher V2.5.7 Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 4 Posted February 4 There are several ways you could set "Superscript" as an option. It would help to have some screenshots to illustrate which one you're using. Steve "Ed" Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 hello and thanks for the quick response. Relatively new to Publisher - just a few years and it does what I need. Screen shot is where I find Superscript - in Character - none works fine until I need superscript then as mentioned, sometimes a new text box is Superscript size. Anything else you need? kenmcd Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Calibri does have an actual Ordinals feature. And those glyphs are correctly optical-sized not just scaled. See example below: You could make a Character Style and assign a shortcut to it. Looks better. garrettm30 1 Quote
Staff DWright Posted February 6 Staff Posted February 6 Hi @Steve "Ed", In the Auto-Correct section of Publisher settings please check if the option Superscript ordinals as they are typed is enabled as this will automatically superscript dates when they are typed without affecting the following typed text. walt.farrell 1 Quote
Steve "Ed" Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Hell D Wright, Checked as suggested and the auto correct is checked. NowI I know it exists I might try un-checking it as I do not write ordinals very often and see if that helps. It is a new text box that sometimes starts of as superscript text. Thank you, Steve Quote

However the question was rather why a new text box sometimes goes superscript from the start till I reset the superscript box to "none" Steve Quote
