LEB Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Hello everyone, I have noticed for several minor versions that selecting font > recent in the context toolbar causes a crash the first time you use this function after updating. I suspect this is an initialisation problem. LEB Quote

I should specify that it is version 15.2 beta on MacOS (not 18). I played with it a little more a few minutes ago and I noticed that it's probably the cursor that acts weird. I becomes a selection arrow, but over the fonts list it reverse back to an "edit cursor" (with the letter A), and depending where you put the cursor it toggles between the two, causing a beach ball spinning for a second once in a while. It does that only when you have some text selected. When the Move tool is in use it works as it should. It has the same behaviour in the latest beta version. Definitely a bug. Staff NathanC Posted December 19, 2024 Staff Posted December 19, 2024 I can't replicate this after rolling back and updating a few times, However, We currently have an issue logged internally regarding switching to the 'recents' list can trigger a crash when variable fonts are installed which seemingly doesn't affect all users so it's very likely to be related to this issue. I've updated the existing issue with this info and bumped it. Quote
LEB Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 I confirm I have variable fonts installed. Quote
RNKLN Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I seem to have the same/a similar problem. Photo crashes as soon as I click the 'recent' tab in the font selector. Doesn't matter if I've clicked any of the other tabs prior and it happens consistently. I've attached a crash report. Like the prior poster I've at least one variable font installed (although not activated and it doesn't show up in the list), Roboto Flex.
