VectorWhiz
After upgrading to the above mentioned version the Tagged pdf problem did not cause Publisher to crash, but when trying to Export the file, I received the error message attached. The Preview generation in the Export dialogue lasted forever and this message occurred when I clicked the Export button, while not waiting for the Preview to appear. CarlaS1031
I'm having similar issue. I'm working on a MacBook Pro with Sonoma 14.6.1 operating system. I have a 20 page publisher doc and when I try to export it to PDF the app crashes and shuts down. I have tried rebooting my laptop, uninstalling and reinstalling 2.6. I tried to load the 2.6 Beta for iPad, but I cannot find it on the App Store as the website says. I need to distribute this document within the next 5 days. Staff Jon P Posted November 27 Staff Share Posted November 27 @CarlaS1031 Thanks for your file. I believe your crash is caused by a bug logged with us, where a tagged image inside a picture frame can crash when exporting to a PDF format with tagging enabled, the workaround for now will be to disable tagging or remove these tags Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
CarlaS1031
Thank you so much for your quick response. I will do as you have advised and let you know if it works. Just FYI, I REALLY LOVE using the Affinity suite. Even in my retirement it's a wonderful program to help keep my skills sharp. VectorWhiz
@ Gabe: I uploaded the file named: TEST - Writhed Writes - book with linked files - Nov 28 2024.afpub as per your request. As far as I know none of the images - .afdesign mostly, one or two .png's - are tagged. I didn't know what tagging was, to be honest. So probably this has nothing to do with Export crashes and error messages during attempts to Export. Up to this point 74 images were linked and there will be more when I have completed the book. I disabled the use of the graphic card to see if it helped preventing the crashes, that occurred up to the penultimate beta version, but that made no difference. Since the upgrade to 2.6.0.2900 the program no longer crashes, but shows me the error message that I posted in an earlier comment. CarlaS1031
@Jon P. I removed all of the tags in my document and disabled them on the Pdf dialog box. Was able to create the Pdf without further issues. Will be very happy when the tag issue is fixed. Thanks again for quick response.
Staff Jon P Posted November 28 Staff Share Posted November 28 @VectorWhiz Your error is caused by hyperlink 5 on Page 52, it's a hyperlink to a base64 encoded image and since it's set to URL and the length of the url exceeds 65535 characters, it's causing the error. I'll get this logged so it won't error on export, but linking it directly to the image if possible should workaround it. VectorWhiz
@ Jon P: I removed the QR code on Page 52, but while trying to Export, I still receive the error message that I posted earlier. In fact I deleted all QR codes that included a hyperlink without success. VectorWhiz
@ Sean P: Thanks a million Sean P; when I do the settings exactly like in the screenprint you offered I can Export the document in Digital High Quality! 👋 Quote Home: https://vectorwhiz.com : : : : Portfolio blog: https://communicats.blogspot.com
