Sudden .afdesign file Corrupt after XX-time Open

Recommended Posts

i5-2500S, SSD SATA, GTX1650 4Gb, 8Gb RAM, run a forced pirated Win 11 with Ventoy. for nearly 6 months now.

i am making stickers printout with imported PNGs, my afdesign file exceeding 250Mb, linked files are embedded, not linked

i import PNGs, i placed them beautifully per 5cm square grid (to be cut at the printing) on 32 x 48 paper, my afdesign file worked fine to 10 artboards, consist of 54 PNG in each,

when i close AD and reopen the file, AD gimme warning the file is corrupted, unfortunate for me, i delete those imported PNG to make sure i don't have repeated image for my sticker's printout. yeah, Bummer. to the max

need some technical explanation for this, since this old PC can handle many projects in Davinci Resolve Fusion, After Effect, Fine with some lag here and there. upgrade is not an option for me.

That sounds like you are using an illegal copy of Windows 11.

Are you telling us that you are using commercial software that you haven’t paid for, or have I misunderstood what you said?

dude, not helping, where is the part u're answering my actual question ? that OS part is just an initial establish of my condition so people may consider my PC specs and answer (at least) something like,

"well, u got urself a pirated software than it can cause lotta bug in other software, " or something similar, cause my V2 license is legit and i won it from archisource event.

- - -

to directly answer your question without asking non-related thing, yes, i'm running windows for free without even bought it, and lots of people do that, and i'm one of them. did it cause im a designer from ghetto. thank you

I can’t speak for Serif but I don’t think that they would condone any illegal use of software, even if the software being used illegally is not theirs, regardless of personal circumstances.

Because of that, I imagine that they might hide/lock this thread, and/or take some other action(s).

I could be wrong about this however; it’s not my call to make.

that's what i wanna hear dude, finally, an answer, thankyou. let's us wait for dev to answer then, i believe serif is superior than adobe which .. they tend to de 🐞 their software, adobe ? add more feature to make people forget the 🐞 is there 😅

lock this thread away if they like but the issue on the software should be handled tho

Corruption can occur when a file is stored on a non-local device or if on a local device that device or folder is synched to something like onedrive etc

It is recommended that you only save your file on your internal drive, turn off any synching for Affinity documents and use external drives just to backup that data (until this issue is fully resolved)

As regards the corrupt file you can upload it to the forum to see if anything can be recovered from it

GarryP is correct, we don't condone illegal use of any software or Operating Systems. The fact you're having to use Ventoy to get Windows 11 on your machine suggests that Windows 11 has been modified in someway to get around restrictions, who knows how this affects our apps and other apps installed on the machine. With that in mind, we can't support our apps running on your system. However, as you're a legitimate Affinty V2 licence holder and your file is corrupted, please upload the file here or send it to affinity@serif.com and we'll see if we can recover it for you.

I worked for a company which had prominently placed posters asking people (the employees) to report any instance of pirated software use to an industry watchdog organization. I asked the company's owner about them and he said "I hate thieves, and I try not to be a hypocrite."

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

okay i'll try to upload the file here, thankyou for the response, basically the workaround is somewhere in TPM 2.0 requirements (as per explained by Linus Tech tips youtube video),
