jbw
How is Affinity's compatibility with Yosemite? I see a few bugs have been reported, but was wondering if there was anything "official" regarding the latest Mac OS update.
Staff MEB Posted October 17, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 17, 2014 Hi jaw, From the beta forum here: Improvements / Features Huge number of Mac OS X Yosemite "Look And Feel" changes and optimisations. Mac OS X Yosemite will (hopefully!) see a public release soon - so we have been doing a lot of work to make sure we look "at home" there. Yosemite is the future. Its safe to assume that Affinity Designer and the rest of the suite will fully support it. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
CartoonMike
I installed Yosemite yesterday and have been using AD (the App Store version and the latest Beta) with no issues at all. In fact, it seems to be more responsive (but that's probably me, I'm such a technophile :) ) jbw 1 Quote Mac OS X Catinlina, 2014 iMac, 3.5 Ghz Intel Core i7, Huion Kamvas Pro 22 Graphic Tablet, 16GB RAM, MacOS10.12 || Magic keyboard w/numeric keypad, wireless trackpad, Kengsington Edge Trackball || Flux Capacitor in a secure location --- I encourage kids to go ahead and play on my lawn. Staff MEB Posted October 17, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 17, 2014 Yes, I can't wait to install it too... But I'm quite happy with Mavericks too :) Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
jbw
Thanks CartoonMike. I'm not doing any serious work yet with Affinity, but still wanted to make sure it works okay with Yosemite. I'll probably just update soon and by the time I finally get around to doing serious work any kinks will probably be worked out. They seem to be on top of things, yet another good thing about Affinity! :)
VectorCat
I installed Yosemite this morning on this 2010 MBP. I began doing serious work in Affinity on this Mac about 2 hours ago. I have so far seen or exprerienced anything prevents my working or Affinity operating smoothly. I wish apple would tone down the colors, but I feel that yosemite is production-ready. RNKLN
I have toned down the colors myself by going to System Preferences - General and selecting Graphite in the Appearance drop down. I've also taken a custom greyish color as the Highlight Color.
