Font van Adobe ook bruikbaar in Affinity Publisher of niet?

MyFonts heeft het gehele aankoopbedrag teruggestort.

Dit vind ik zeer loyaal van hen.

Dit wilde ik nog even kwijt, ter afsluiting van de  kwestie over de betaalde versie van het font Sabon Lt Pro.

Does this mean you managed meanwhile to use the Adobe version in APub? – I am wondering because you wrote yesterday that the Adobe font Sabon LT Pro does not work for you with non-Adobe apps:

Het is mij niet gelukt om met Adobe fonts te werken in Affnity Publisher. Wel met fonts van de website 'Google fonts'. Daar plukte ik het font Arno Pro uit, dat mij zeer kan bekoren. Het was eventjes een kwartiertje werk vanmorgen om alle stijlen te veranderen. Maar nu staat alles weer goed.

Dat is zeer vreemd omdat er geen Arno(pro) font is op google fonts dus ik zou toch even kijken of je hier goed aan doet.
Ik denk dat het zelfs opnieuw een adobe font is, zie:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arno_(typeface)

Now, since the Sabon LT Pro is no longer related to your .afpub document, it might be worth a try to see if rebooting the computer might "reset" the system and/or Affinity font database and solve your issue with that Adobe font in non-Adobe apps. It may also be worth trying to check if this font is available in other apps on your computer (non-Adobe, non-Affinity), – assuming your Adobe font license generally should work for you with non-Adobe apps AND your Myfonts file has been uninstalled / removed.

Yes, it is again an Adobe font, and (as suggested by the word Pro in the name) it is not available for free. There is a font family named Arvo on Google Fonts, but it’s a slab serif typeface.

Ik denk dat @AvdB-Netherlands dacht dat ik voorstelde om lettertypen te googelen (werkwoord) in plaats van naar de eigenlijke google fonts site te gaan.

But it sure isn't a google font or to be found on the site.

And, if this is an Adobe font, this also would proof that the @AvdB-Netherlands is not generally unable to use Adobe fonts in Affinity and the Adobe Sabon LT Pro might work in Affinity for the OP … unless their OS and/or Affinity app does not get confused by a formerly (or currently) installed MyFonts file with the same name or font ID.

Hoe ik dan aan het font Arno Pro gekomen ben, dat weet ik dan niet.

Als dit een Adobe font is, waarom werkt dit font dan wel in Affinity Publisher? Zonder enige restricties nog wel mag ik dit font gebruiken voor het binnenwerk van mijn boek.

Soms worden er alleen een bepaald gewicht/stijl van een lettertype vrijgegeven om je lekker te maken om de complete familie aan te schaffen.
Voorheen waren niet alle adobe fonts verkrijgbaar via the creative cloud en zijn dus gewoon te vinden.
En deze ,alleen de normale stijl, van Arno pro is alleen voor persoonlijk gebruik dus je kunt het niet gebruiken voor publicaties.
Waarschijnlijk kun je geen scheef of vet gebruiken met dit lettertype dus erg beperkt in het gebruik voor een boek lijkt mij.
Zou toch echt een google font (familie)zoeken omdat deze geen beperkingen heeft.

As mentioned a few times before, possibly your system and/or APub got confused by the other installed / activated Sabon LT Pro font file. It the system thinks a font is activated already it may refuse the activation for another instance.

To me on mac this also concerns different files and font types of a certain font, e.g. if a Truetype version is activated then a different type (e.g. Postscript) is prevented from getting activated, too.

This may conflict with the Adobe announcement @ https://fonts.adobe.com/ :

"Simplified Licensing – The entire Adobe Fonts library can be used for both personal and commercial projects."

I was referring to the version at myfonts which only contains the regular style and is restricted to personal use only.
The creative cloud version is already paid for with your subscription and may probably not be used when you end the subscription with adobe.

Arno Pro was included in Adobe CS3. If you purchased CS3, depending on how you manage fonts and migrate to new computers, Arno Pro may be installed in the Windows Fonts folder.

Alle fonts van Adobe zijn te gebruiken in de Affinity Suite. De enige vereiste is dat je de Creative Cloud van Adobe moet activeren bij het opstarten van je pc. 

Dit doe je door onder <taakbeheer > Creative Cloud in te schakelen als app en laadt bij het opstarten van je pc.

Hiermee is de zaak opgelost.

Dank Arend voor je reacties en dat je het werkend hebt gekregen.
Maar als je niet afhankelijk wilt blijven van een abonnement bij Adobe zou ik toch overwegen het te gaan zoeken in opensource lettertypes(zoals google fonts)
Dit zorgt dat je, als echte Nederlander, op de kosten kunt letten en toch dat kunt doen wat je wilt.
Want ik weet niet in hoeverre je gebruik kunt maken van de fonts als je het abonnement opzegt bij Adobe en geen toegang meer hebt tot deze bestanden.
Maar uiteindelijk is het aan jou deze beslissing te nemen.

Dankjewel voor je reactie. Ik werk bijna niet meer met Photoshop en Lightroom. Ik doe nu alles in Affinity Suite. Ik volg daar ook een cursus voor.

Het abonnement bij Adobe kost mij € 12,09 per maand. Dit is eigenlijk zondegeld. Wanneer ik boetevrij met Adobe kan stoppen, dan doe ik dat.

Het is zeer zeker raadzaam om te kijken naar een ander font.

In mijn vorige boeken gebruikte ik Caslon Pro. Dat is volgens mij ook van Adobe, maar ook zonder lidmaatschap te gebruiken in Word of Affinity Publisher. 

Ik ben een echte Nederlander die op de kosten let.

There have been many font files in the Adobe installers (CS1 – CS6) before "creative cloud" and subscription came up:
