Sub brush textures have no effect

When setting a sub brush texture, it will show in preview, but does not actually paint.

I have no problems with the brush, neither when painting nor when editing the sub-brush.

Cheers

When I paint, there is no texture. Looks like this:

Sorry, that was a bit hasty of me. The Texture in the Sub-Brush cannot be recognized. Is the texture a PNG File?

Cheers

You've posted in the Bugs forum, so now it's just a matter of waiting until Serif staff have a chance to process this topic. When they're busy it can take a week or more.

FWIW, on Mac this is working correctly. I added my own sub-brush texture since it is missing from the test.afbrushes file uploaded and once added the sub-brush texture both previews and paints.

How do you mean it is missing? There is a sub-brush texture. See the first screenshot. Base texture on the right.

If I import and edit your brush this is what I see, i.e., no texture... if I add my own texture everything works as expected...

I see texture present in the editing dialog for that brush on Windows (similar to what was shown initially in this topic):

However, when I paint there's no texture in the sub-brush. And none shows up in the main brush editing dialog ("More"):

I just deleted, downloaded from the forum to make sure I'm using the same version and re-imported. Shows up for me.

I've likewise done the same and on Mac the texture is missing so I don't know whether that is in some way related... I appreciate the texture is shown on Windows but the fact it doesn't paint suggests something is amiss.

Could you upload the PNG sub-texture and I'll load it on Mac and see whether or not the texture paints when loaded...

Loading your PNG file as the sub-brush texture both previews and paints on macOS so it looks as though this may be a Windows issue...

Edit: Ignore me, it's not working for the sub-brush

There is an issue on Mac, as soon as you attempt to make any edits to the sub-texture General or Dynamics settings the window closes, in fact, it's just caused Photo to crash so something isn't right...

Are you able to make adjustments to the sub-texture General or Dynamics settings on Windows without issues?

Edit: After the crash and relaunching Photo the sub-texture General or Dynamics settings suddenly worked and so did the sub-texture but it was short-lived and now it's no longer working again and is again causing Photo to crash...
