Using Open with on the second file from the new Windows 11 context menu does not open

Recommended Posts

If you're meaning the Right-Click menu of Windows File Explorer, Open With..., that's the way it's been for a long time. It's the same for Windows 10. It allows single file selection, any more and you just get the Open command. Serif has nothing to do with that, it's a Windows thing.

@maisondasilva: Did you install using the default MSIX installer, or the alternate EXE installer?

MSIX installer (Microsoft Store)

Those are two different things. Was it the MSIX installer (downloaded from the Affinity Store) or was it the Microsoft Store?

In any case, I have the MSIX from the Affinity Store installed on Win 11, and I can use Open With from File Explorer as often as I want and it works.

Another user (I'm not sure if it was @Ron P. or someone else) posted recently about this, but as I recall no one (Serif or user) ever figured out why that system was handling things incorrectly.

I wanted to say that I installed it both ways MSIX installer and Microsoft Store and had the same behavior, sorry for the confusion!

Normally it opens without problems, but at some point this happens, I only noticed it in the new version!

It usually works as expected!

This is strange I have tested your workflow with both the Microsoft store version and our MISX and I have not been able to replicate this behaviour, can you please try right clicking the Designer 2 icon and from the pop up menu select more and App Settings and then in the new window click the Repair option

I tried this again today and I still see the behavior at times!

Can you figure out anything common or consistent or different about the times when it doesn't work? If you can describe a scenario that seems to trigger it, or in which it happens more often, than may help the recreation and diagnosis effort.
