Create a 'media browser' panel of our image folders to view and place them in the document

Recommended Posts

Muchas gracias

Well, such a panel would then be sort of a "very poor man's DAM"… ;)
I'd rather use some more advanced 3rd party DAM and drag and drop my images directly from there.

In fact, just yesterday I bought PixlPath which is a simple and lightweight DAM where you can create image catalogs for individual projects or clients. From there I can just drag and drop images into the Publisher layout to make them linked. Easy.

I use Bridge for the same thing but I'll take a look at the application you recommend. Thank you. 🥰

In any case, I would like something native, that was in the same program 🤞

But thank you very much for your interest! 😍

more of a dynamic asset panel that displayed content from a user-specified folder on disk rather than from an Affinity-specific asset store.

Yeah, I understand the idea.

Still, -1 from me. I specifically dislike the "dynamic" aspect here. I don't think that yet another background process that may slow down the app performance is needed. Stuff like that should be offloaded to a separate process, be it the long requested and eagerly awaited "Affinity DAM" or a corresponding 3rd party app.

Besides, there are easy to use built-in OS tools and workflows that can dynamically achieve more or less the same.
For instance, what I've been doing since the Mac OS System 7 days:
Project folders with Finder aliases to all assets being used in the project: photos, graphics, logos, texts, fonts, you name it, regardless where they actually live on the hard drive. Like that I have only one folder to navigate to via the Place command.

I like the place panel but I would like it to be persistent. If I drag 20 images and start placing them one by one (not autoflow), I cannot stop the process or switch to another tool to make a small adjustment, otherwise the place panel disappears and I loose track of what images have already been placed.

Making it persistent like any other panel would be very helpful when working with imported assets
