mogsie Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 I can no longer see which master has been applied by hovering over the page in the pages panel. The tooltip doesn't appear like it used to. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Do you get other Tooltips? Are you really using the Beta, and if so what release and application? mogsie Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 I get other tooltips as normal. I've tried it on the Beta and on version 2 with the same result. I'm on a Mac using Sonoma. I wondered it I had accidentally switched something off. Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 There's nothing to switch on or off for that, so something odd is happening. Does this happen with all documents, or just one specific one? Have you confirmed from the Layers panel that there are actually Master Pages applied? mogsie Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 This is a new test file with 3 masters. I can see that the masters have been applied, but when I hover with the pointer I don't see a tooltip. TEST MASTERS.afpub Quote
MikeTO Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 I believe this is a known bug with 2.3 - Publisher doesn't consistently display the master page names when hovering over thumbnails of document pages in the Pages panel, at least on macOS. This came up during the 2.3 beta but I can't find a thread on it right now. Hangman Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Hi @mogsie, I don't know if it is Sonoma specific but on Monterey, the Master Page tooltip is shown as expected... mogsie Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 It works on Ventura, so it must be a Sonoma thing. Needs to be fixed. Quote

Good to know, thanks for testing... hopefully it will be fixed in the 2.4 release cycle... I likewise couldn't find any reference to this being logged but hopefully it is... MikeTO Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 It may very well be only on Sonoma, I don't know, but note that it is intermittent and generally doesn't happen immediately after creating or opening a document. I can't find a thread reporting this issue so perhaps Serif isn't aware of this one yet. I thought I'd reported it long ago but perhaps I was still trying to find a pattern. Dan C Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Thanks for your report @mogsie! As above, this issue is logged with our development team and we're currently investigating further - it certainly seems to be Sonoma specific, as it affects both Affinity V1 & V2 apps on this OS version only, therefore we suspect something has changed on Apples end in regards to these tooltips being displayed. I'll be sure to have this issue 'bumped' with our dev team now, to bring it to their attention once again Quote
