Content Authenticity Initiative

Today (26/10/2023) Leica has launched the M11-P (https://leica-camera.com/en-US/press/new-leica-m11-p#), a version of the M11 camera which incorporates a chip that implement the concept of the Content Authenticity Initiative. This is the first camera which integrates natively this feature.

I think that this initiative is of main interest for prefessional (but not limited to) photographers, and that a professional grade software like AP should be interested in integrating this initiative in its features.

Participants to CAI are top-level subjects (Adobe, Nikon, BBC, Leica and many, many others), and get informations about the initiative is easy to find on the net.

Some open source software is already available on the site (https://contentauthenticity.org/), and being part of it is totally free.

Hope this can be a further opportunity for AP to increase its top-rated quality rank and enhance it's visibility.

Yep, dropped by to see if someone else had already mentioned this^

would love to see the Affinity suite (or at least Photo) equipped with Content Credentials signing.

I'm happy to be not alone in this, thanks Denuoermont.

I strongly believe that the image authenticity issue (especially against AI) will gain a lot of interest in the near future, both for professionals, but for amateur too (in particular to who will partecipate in contests). I think that AP can't stay behind in this argument.

Same reason for dropping by - only became aware of CC today and agree adding feature to Affinity suite would be good.

Bump.

I was at a camera club meeting where they were toying with making content credentials compulsory for competitions. This might be only a small part of Affinity's market but those of us using it won't be amused if have to get Adobe for competitions.

It is high time for widespread and standardized attachment of certificates and cryptographic validation of images and other copyright-protected materials for all types of creative performers especially.

It's odd that it hasn't happened yet, so it's nice to see Leica making a move, as it's a brand that provides tools for many professionals, whose livelihoods are secured by, among other things, that camera.

I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. Everything follows suit. Just everything.

The Content Credentials mark is now being included in the Adobe apps. I think this would be a very good thing to have in the Affinity programs. Otherwise, the only way to get a minimum of protection as a professional is staying with the Adobe programs.

Not happy of where things are heading, but at least I hope this will not bloat the Affinity programs or documents.
