Inspector Gadget Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Anyone else having this problem. It is happening right across Affinity Suite since updating Affinity Software. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Just a comment: you're one update back-level, as 2.2.1 is the current level. That's probably not related to your problem, though. Inspector Gadget Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Hi Walt. Just updated to 2.2.1 and still having same problem. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Sorry, but I don't have much more to add. I do not have that problem with 2.2.1 on my Mac, but I'm still on Ventura 13.6. It could be some interaction with iCloud (if you have iCloud managing your Desktop folder) or some Permissions issue after the app update, but I'm new enough at using the Mac that I wouldn't want to hazzard more of a guess than that. Do you have this problem just with .aftemplate files? Is the file on your machine, or only in the cloud, when you look at the folder in Finder? Inspector Gadget Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 No Walt it doesn't. Have just tried that. Other templates eg. Excel, Word etc are ok. If I create a new file in Affinity Photo and export it as a template and save it on the desk top, whenever I go to open the new saved file fron the desktop it wont let me. Seems to be only files ending in .aftemplate are affected. Quote
Inspector Gadget Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 Files not using the .aftemplate, eg .afphoto, .afdesigner are not effected... Strange. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 Definitely strange. Maybe another Sonoma user can confirm. Inspector Gadget Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 I hope so have posted this on another affinity forum to see if anyone can advise... Thanks very much for your replies. I will let you know if I can get something sorted. Cheers Walt and thanks again Quote

Staff DWright Posted October 23, 2023 Staff Posted October 23, 2023 Hi @Inspector Gadget, Is it possible for you to send me a copy of your .aftemplate file using the Dropbox link below as I have not been able to replicate this issue on my M1 Mac running MacOS 14.0 https://www.dropbox.com/request/DPKb374pkHBnwGvbwCbr Quote
Inspector Gadget Posted October 23, 2023 Author Posted October 23, 2023 Thanks I have uploaded a test file and as you can see from the screenshot on desktop it will not open the template file. When I change the file extension from .aftemplate to .afphoto it will open as normal with editing capabilities. Cheere Quote
