Rod Corston Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Hello there I've just upgraded from Affinity Photo ver. 1 to Affinity Photo 2 and hit a small snag with the Clone tool. When using the Clone tool in Affinity ver. 1 on my Mac and following the initial Option click to select the area I wanted to use in the Clone process - the brush changed to a transparent circle (the actual size of the bush) and remained clear / empty as I moved it to the area I wanted to paint over. However, in Affinity 2 and after I've made the Option click, the circle carries a ghost image of area I've just selected and In the image below, I've made the Option click on the grassed hillside to the right of the lifebelt and moved the brush onto the sky to better reveal the Overlay I recall that when using Photoshop, I was able to turn off this feature by choosing to not show 'Overlay' and having just gone back into Affinity 1 to check . . . I don't see any sign of the overlay in the Clone brush circle nor do I recall any option to turn it off. As a matter of preference, I'd choose not to see the overlay and any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance Best wishes Rod Quote

Rod Corston Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 Hello Walt Many thanks for your prompt response, and apologies for the previous misleading wording, my mistake. I’m quite new to the world of forums and unsure where I’d find the answer to that other query. Thanks again Rod Quote
