Hi Blind Pilot,

Do the objects you're trying to use the Vector Flood Tool on filled or contain no fill? There is a known crash that occurs when you attempt to use the Vector Flood Fill with multiple objects selected on a non overlapping shape with no fill.

Are you able to get a video showing the process you're doing that leads to the crash please?
Thanks!

If i draw a circle or any object with no fill then take the knife tool and cut it in half, then use the move tool and move the top half, then use the vector flood tool to fill the object, Designer crashes.

@Sean P, It appears to be the same no-fill crash. I tried replicating this earlier, however the vector shapes I used were already filled. Following Blind Pilot's latest recipe, where the vector objects were not filled, Designer crashes.

I cannot get this recipe to crash here with Mac OS 11.7. However I do see that when I Cut with the Knife tool and move one of the No Fill bits then use the Flood Fill tool I wind up with two Curves, one Filled and an empty copy. I get no empty copy if I use the Flood Fill tool on a cut already filled object.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I repeated those same steps again and again and never got a crash.

I still get Designer crashing. Discovered that one of the segments must be moved before filling to trigger the crash. If you fill it first, then move, it does not crash.

The issue "Applying Vector Flood Fill to an empty, non-overlapping curve will cause it to crash" (REF: AFD-6549) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1769".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
