earl_grey
Hi, I would like to suggest adding a Path Width Tool for easier and more precise stroke adjustments. This tool would allow users to thicken the outline at specific points by simply clicking and dragging with the mouse. Other software like Adobe Illustrator and Amadine have a stroke width tool. The current method, using the Pressure chart in the Stroke panel, is not as user-friendly or accurate as it could be. Current method: Suggested (like Amadine or Adobe Illustrator): debraspicher, vendara, Krustysimplex and 2 others
2ddpainter
You can also have a look at this post of mine where I mention also yet another program which have the feature you like and a few more https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/150962-add-ability-to-precisely-vary-width-of-a-stroke-at-any-given-point/ earl_grey
retrograde
I've been checking out Amadine. Overall the application seems stable and responsive. I like its double click isolation mode and the line thickness tool as you say does work well and the it does have a clean boolean operation without leaving a mess of points. Does Amadine have any kind of transparency tool/layer masking or distortion/warping tools? Not sure how you check out software, but it's help will tell you, same as with the Affinity apps ... https://amadine.com/support/help/layers-blending https://amadine.com/support/help/shape-clipping-mask https://amadine.com/support/help/shape-free-transform-tool Amadine offered free distortion long before ADe. retrograde 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.6 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.6 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.6 ◆ OSX El Capitan☛ Affinity V2 apps still not installed and thus momentary not in use under MacOS
retrograde
Thanks v_kyr. I normally get into the app and try things out then head to the help if I don't see what I'm looking for. I've seen those features you linked to. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I'm talking more about advanced distortion features like Designers new warp features arc, bend, mesh, etc... specifically for distorting type for logo work, etc... For the transparency I know about the blending modes and clipping masks, I'm talking more like Designers transparency tool where you can fade an object or a group of objects (not just a gradient) from 100% to 0%.about layer mask type features. I see that you Amadine can set a gradient to have a colour stop with 0% opacity which is a good start. Illustrators method with its opacity mask shape is cumbersome when you need to make a lot of them in a project.
